Missing side covers
« on: October 22, 2011, 09:51:45 PM »
I have a 1973 CB750 that has no side covers. Can anyone tell me what year and size (CB 750, CB650, etc.) covers will work on this bike?

None better. Not even OEM.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

Try these guys,

I bought a set and was so happy I got another. They are OEM design with thicker reinforced tabs.
No ugly screws to look at or to deal with as with some aftermarket products. Just my preference on the screws since if it was
not for those they'd likely be fine.
LMP supply bare emblems also, these are fine but I'm not too crazy over painting those. Price is good too on the covers.

Forum member Frankenstuff has better covers for sale and they are not plastic and they are also cheaper. I have 2 sets and they leave the LPM ones for dead, i have new LPM ones as well....... ;)

Hard to believe they are not FRP or molded plastic.

Polyurethane, lots stronger and all mounts are reinforced....

Plastic is a generic term and is used to describe a vast array of materials with vastly different performance characteristics.  A whole engineering discipline in itself. Like anything, "plastics" are compromises based upon the application at hand.  A very tough plastic may not be resistant to heat, or sun damage, as an example.

The LPM's are crap, not the exact design of OEM. My K7 came with them and I trashed 'em and bought a set from Frankie.

Thanks for all the suggestions but let me restate my original question; If i was to search the classified ads looking for used side covers what other years and what other size CBs would interchange/fit with my 73 750K?

I believe 71-76 are basically the same. 77-78 are def different.

Good luck.

71 -76 cb 750 is right, the first 2 years have different emblems than your had , but they are Hands Down NICER !
I am getting the impression you are new to bikes... sidecovers generally only fit one model.. so no other ones will fit.

New to bikes? Well, if only riding for 3-1/2 decades classifies me as a newbie. Yea, I guess so.
