New toy...Honda CBX
« on: October 23, 2011, 03:03:12 PM »

So I know that I have used this line WAY to many times....
but really the last thing i needed was another bike but i couldnt just not buy this
Ive always loved the idea of the CBX.
Would have rathered an early twin shock bike but this pro link will be just fine.

Bike really needs a bath but its all there and the paint looks nice.
Since its been sitting for a few years I know that it needs all the rubber seals and such replaced.
Check out those kick ass SS supertrapp pipes!

I cant seem to find the manual online...anyone got a link?
Also im looking for a good type specific website is anyone knows a good one.

Pretty sweet, looks in very decent condition, I'm not surprised you couldn't resist, Jaguar.  Always had a soft spot for the CBX, it was just so outrageous in the day!  Sorry, can't help you with any websites, I'm sure you will find some though.

I don't blame you for giving in to temptation. I would be a nice example if I found one as well. Nice bike! Those super traps were the S%$#! back in the day.

No thing like a 4 cylinder honda towing a 6 home....
The seller a few blocks away.
Pushed the CB750F and CB350F that cam in the "package" home but was not about to push the CBX

The CB350F is clean.
Its been repainted but all and all not a bad bike

The CB750F has shelbys and some other cool parts on it

the prolink can be renovated vith  refill atf  oil and new sealings..think yours front forks can seal vith right air pressure in the forks..if not rotten avay
good luck to get the six kaburettors in syncro

Yeah not looking forward to doing the carbs but ive worked on everything from lawn mowers to jets so its all fun in the end

I need to read up on the options for the rear shock

Yes the calipers are similar to the DOHC twin pistons

Mike Nixon has an excellent book on the carbs.  I bought it before tearing into mine and would highly recommend it.  I used Randakk's carb kit which Mike recommends.  Randakk can sell both the book and the kit.  I believe you already found cbxworld.com.  Hey, what kind of seat cover is that?  I like it.

Here is Randakk's kit page:

Also, Louis Mintrone is the leader in used parts and a really helpful guy:

Finally, some guy named Mike Rieck might be able to handle any head work that you might need:

He has been spotted a time or two on CBXworld.com...

I hope that you get it running great.  They can be lots of fun, no doubt.
