Exhaust Part - Packing Protector
« on: May 16, 2006, 03:51:02 PM »
I've ordered some bit parts to get my exhaust system back to what it should be. One I can't order, 18292-290-000 Packing, Protector, is discontinued. I think I have one, not sure it's original. Can anyone tell me what material these are made of? It seems they insulate/isolate the heat shields, but it really never gets too hot back that far.

If I think it's what you're talking about, they are thick, fiber washers that help to insulate the footguard from the muffler mountings.

Thanks Dan. At least the one I have seems to be original or at least correct material. It is a fiber material.
