Great looking bike!! WOW!!!

Now could you tell us how you got those carbs to run with that perfect idle and good throttle response?

Many forum members say it is not possible to get pods or stacks to work.

Can you tell us the year of the bike ?
Does it have the accelerator pimp on #2 carb?

Also idle jet size.
Mainjet size.
Do the needles have shims?
Mixture screws?(turns)

I have been having fits getting the stacks to work on my 1978 CB750.
I just keep hoping someone has been successful and you sure have !!!

It purrs.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

I was trying to get you to share the tuning information so as to help other forum members.

The 550 PD carbs are the same as the 750.

I wanted to hear something from you about the bike.

hi , it is a 75 cb550- it idles and runs very good all through the range...
here are two cb750's with stacks also...the top 72 cb750 (green) has been on the road and it is increadably well carburated all through the range and i can not get over how smooth/low it idles, about 900 rpm. the bottom cb (72 also) has run(it seems fine)on the bench but is not completed so it has not been on the road yet to verify/ck jetting...
of course you need to cover the basics, engine integrity is critical, type exhaust system, then the proper settings (valves, timing, aau operation). it seems most of the jetting problems with the carbs is in the mid range so go much richer and the same with the mains..stock pilot may be ok,if pilot air screw is in less than 1/2 turn go up one size.....one thing for sure is you can make them run fine with stacks..
what bike specs are you interested in? i have the stacks to sell also if anyone is interested
 good luck, joe@ vcycle

I'd like to know more about the exhaust. Did you use stock head pipes and aftermarket mufflers? Details, please....

The bikes look great!!

On the green CB750 72 can you tell us.
 idle jet size?
main jet size?
Needle clip position?

Saying your bike runs well does not really help us.

The 78 is the one I really want to know about.
The early models were adjustable with adjustable needles and no accelerator pump.
Those are well known.
The 77-78's have not been worked out by anyone I know.

Love the color and sound
Two small questions, why no shaved triple or fork dust seals?

hi,
see www.joesvcycle.net for prices/types of velocity stacks..
"saying your bike runs well does not really help us", i was making a statement that it could be done since someone said no one has had luck doing it.....i can give you jetting numbers but it does not mean it will work for every bike.....each engine(condition, modifications),exhaust and intake and your location will be unique and will require proper tuning. 72 cb750 baseline with custom built exhaust(which makes a big difference) ,concave velocity stacks.idle jet one size up,main jet 5 sizes up and needle clip at 4. timing(stock pts/ cond)advanced a few degree's, valves on tight side of limits.

jaguar...the cr750 did not use dust seals or gaitors.... if you want to pick the bike apart on what is accurate and what is not it will not be difficult as i built the bike to be used on the street and the owner had specific requests and had a limit on how much he wanted to spend so compromises were made and items added to make it street legal...

jaguar,
yeah sometimes you have to cut corners or follow owners request, that is why i found out it's better to build a bike the way you want it and then sell it.
sorry if i came across that way, have a good one,joe

He does not have to tell anything.
I am just asking questions.
I am not angry at all.
I am NOT demanding.
I am trying to build a tuning chart for all of the members, and this bike has been one of the best running ones i have heard. A good example.

I will be nicer about it in the future.
