Gaskets and seals
« on: January 16, 2012, 01:54:43 am »
NOTE TO ALL:

This thread details how one sohc4 member assembled and sold a Gasket/Seals set for the CB750A.

This member is Jim F.  He made up a certain number of sets, and members agreed to purchase a set.  All sets were shipped out the third/fourth quarter of 2012.  Jim F can be reached at:

jfrench815@gmail.com

Has anyone got any surplus bottom end gaskets or seals (O rings ect) or know of any good suppliers or makers of gaskets.
I think I asked this some time back but can't find it, been through every thread on here. :(

Sam. ;)

If we are able to get complete bottom end gasket sets made, who will want them.
Post your name in this thread and I'll start a list. I would think the more we have made, the better the price.

Put me in for one remanufactured "B" kits if they get made. Never hurts to have extras.

Thanks for getting me on the list. If we can keep the cost down, might even want two more for my spare motors.

Sam, I'm the one that authored that piece on Hondachopper.
I haven't confirmed it, but I think the 'matic oil pan gasket is the same as the early DOHC 750 (same part#) so those might be readily available.
It's the others that are so hard to find so I resorted to making my own.

I just got in the laser cut gaskets a little while ago and they look really good

I matched up the most complicated and its perfect
its not the same material but its a start

I have the set that Johnnycakes sent to me and I will be sending that up as soon as I get over to Bills
to check on how they fit up but I think they are going to be just fine.

Here is the OEM Gasket on top of the new one that was laser cut

Excellent work Jim.....you rule! ;) The only thing I see off a small bit is an indentation in the oil pump cut out (the large circle cut out). Or maybe that is an optical illusion.

The part # for the "B" kit is 06111-393-000 .  This way maybe someone goggling for this part number will find this thread.

Got the Laser cut gaskets over to Bills this weekend and he will check the fit on a motor

I sent the original set that Johnnycakes sent up to the laser cutter for deliver today
as soon as I hear from Bill about the fit, I will call the Laser cutter so he can start to measure the
thickness of each gasket and make a few sets
will keep all posted
Bill is looking into finding the "O" rings also
I will be doing the same
