Custom hubs for CB550?
« on: October 01, 2012, 08:28:04 AM »
Does anyone know where I could find a manufacturer for custom hubs? I have the five spoke rims from a nighthawk on my bike...hate them... and I wanted to put the classic wire spoke rims on my bike. Simple enough...Except...I want to put excel rims on...the stock honda hubs were drilled for 40 spokes and there is only one place I can find 40H excel rims, And by the time everything was said and done I would have damn near more money in the wheels than I would the rest of the bike....So I want to put an excel 1.85x18 32H on the front and a 2.15x18 32H on the rear...but...back to the issue with the hubs....so.. Anyone know where I could find a custom hub manufacturer?

There are a few, but will cost more than putting Excels on yours.

[insert pun about reinventing the wheel]

yeah, i'd think that custom machining would cost way more than any production solution.
