Yeah that's neat all lined up like that. Did you buy them all at once at a sell out or one here and there ? What kind of average mileage do they have on them ? Our local cops have Harley's now I believe, what kind of bikes our your local lawmen riding. ?

They werent purchased all together but mostly pretty recently!

All have between 80-110,000kms...

We have BMW R1200RT's (or they may be 1250s now) in my state as currentl police bikes but they do have other ones in other states as well (FJR's & maybe harley). I actually have an ex police 07 R1200rt as well hehe.

Nice!. they all look mint too.  Approximately how long did the police department hang on to them and were they good at maintaining them??

Did they have the big 180Kph speedo's like the SOHC 750 cop bikes mate? If so, I've got a couple of cop speedo's here. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Hi

I am looking to restore a Honda 750 Police Bike - do you know if there are any articles or reference materials to assist with this?

Regards

its a 1981 cb750k dohc

currently looking for mufflers in usable condition. or a single system to use to get it running.

a replacement front comstar rim as mine has a bit of corrosion on the bead edge. not sure which other models have the same with twin discs.

usually that era cop bikes didn't have a rear seat, the radio box usually lived there instead, i could be wrong

also , whilst not a honda , i know where there is an XJ900 cop bike still with all the lights and signage that is for sale, appears to have been well looked after,  don't know how much but i can direct and melbournians towards it. also not sure which states had them as cop bikes
i blame Terry

I've never had the urge to own a cop bike, but I did once, by accident. My mate Jeff at Ace had a Suzuki GS750 going cheap, and as I was into GS1000's at the time, he rang me to see if I wanted it? As far as I'm aware, it was either an ex-SA cop bike, or a prototype that the cops had for testing, but never put in an order?

Someone had taken most of the cop regalia off it and painted over the white frame (poorly, with the engine still in place) but it still had the cop speedo/tacho on it's special bracket, which I still have. It had done next to no miles on the odo, and as Jeff had ratted the OEM ignition I threw a Martek electronic ignition into it and was amazed that I could wind the idle down to a steady 200 RPM. I sold it to a guy who was going to "Civilianise" it, by removing the long rear fender, crash bars and some other bits. They were nice bikes to ride, but not sure if they were ever brought into service by the cops? ;D

well i went to have a proper look at the XJ cop bike, turned out to be a WA origin, and i t was a 750 not a 900 so even less desirable....

it's in good condition and comes with most of the original cop bolt ons, lights radio livery etc and also has the original police spec owners handbook and WA police shoulder patch

i offered the guy 15 fgor it and he seemed quite happy, he didn't realise i meant 1500 and i didn't realise he meant 15000......

i told him i'd be back later with the money and when i rang to check if he was there it all got straightened out, i didn't buy it
i blame Terry

I think my other Suzuki T500 frame was originally a cop bike. The black paint is coming off everywhere and it’s white underneath the black. I originally assumed it had just been painted white sometime in its life, but when I peeled off the factory VIN label, it was white underneath? I’ve never seen a Suzuki T500 cop bike? I wonder what state they were used in? ;D

Here ya go: https://www.pressreader.com/malaysia/the-star-malaysia/20130908/281870116114225

Thanks Alan, that is interesting. I did a google search for more pics and found this one, which is a bit odd, the cop on the GS 4 stroke bike on the left has just crashed into something, and the other cop on a T500 (with later Suzuki GS tank mounted) is trying to pull his bike up. I'd love to know the back story. ;D
