I hear ya' Hall. They are already closing school here in WI for Monday. Supposed to be a wind chill of -35 to -45 Monday and into next week. Below zero temps and very low wind chills for the Packer game Sunday. Another Ice Bowl in Green Bay :)

Still above zero here but dropping.....-25 tomorrow with highs of -12...not much better Monday.  -38 up on the northern border.  They closed school for Monday and I am supposed to do a service call in the morning for my AV job...we'll see if the truck starts.  I think I will do a practice run on Sunday when it hits -20. ;D  Making homemade turkey and dumpling soup tonite  from the Christmas carcass...mmmm...great stuff for this type of weather.

I cant image sitting in the stands at Lambeau field tomorrow, kick off time suppose to be brutal cold. Get out your Grebings heated gear, with a group 27 battery in your back pack.

I don't think it felt that bad here today DHall, the bad thing is it is punctuated by rain.   I like cold, especially with snow, but I despise cold and rain.

We got up to 30 today...but the dive in temps starts tonight with the wind. You think it will be bad for Packer fans in the cold...worse for the Niner fans :)  Either way it will be a tough game for the Pack. Niners are lookin' good.

I think the years was 1967 wasn't it Johnie and I was 10 years old watching the Ice Bowl on TV when Bart Starr with his main blocker Jerry Kramer pushed Jethro Pugh out of the way to score the winning touch down on a quarter back sneak.

You are correct Hall...The Green Bay Packers' playoff game Sunday against San Francisco could be one of the coldest in NFL history, rivaling the subzero temperatures of the 1967 Ice Bowl, so fans are taking plenty of precautions.

Temperatures at Lambeau Field are expected to be a frigid minus 2 degrees when the Packers and 49ers kick off at 3:40 p.m. Central time. By the fourth quarter it'll be a bone-chilling minus 7, with wind chills approaching minus 30, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures at the so-called Ice Bowl in Green Bay, the 1967 championship game in which the Packers beat Dallas to advance to Super Bowl II, got as cold as minus 13 degrees with a wind chill of minus 46.

I thought the folks who watched The Red Wings and Leafs play at the UofM Stadium here on New Years were nuts, all 105,000 of them. But it turns out that was a balmy 14F and snow. You Wisconsin folks are the real nuts.  :)

Between 102 and 110 F here yesterday.... :o

As a North Country animal I don't like temps above 90F and above 100F I find difficult to deal with. 110 I wouldn't even go outside.   I can always throw on more cloths but you can only take so much off.  Worked outside for about three hours today with no problem.  Cleaned out my truck and organized the tools and then cleaned up the battery terminals so I can get every bit of juice possible for the next few days. It is and interesting experience and I will probably go for a walk on Sunday, the air is so crisp and sound really seems to carry.  Coldest I can remember is -35 but we won't get close to that this time.  The bright side is that is almost always sunny when it gets this cold. :o

-9 here at midnite...here it comes. ;D

I think I prefer the cold over the snow...just my opinion. Walked the dogs this AM it was 9 degrees and no wind. Did not feel that bad. Dogs had fun too. I agree with the wind things will change. The university in my town has already called off classes Monday as have a number of schools.

Fun leftovers from last month. 80° in the front room by the woodstove. 60° in the kitchen where the thermometer was. 38° in the playroom where nobody was playing pinball. -17° outside wasn't quite a record but getting close.
