« on: March 18, 2014, 03:20:27 AM »
Was told by someone today that there is a manufacturer obsolete honda exhausts in Queensland(Australia) but could not remember the name. I googled but no luck. Does any Aussies know about this mob?

Thanks, after days of searching I also found them today. They are in Victoria. He has 750 and 400, but no 550's, said he has never heard of one and tells me he is a Honda collector. Explained that they look like the 4 into 1 400. Said he would make headers for around $600 and would have a muffler that should work for over $300, so all up with postage around $1000.
I sent a few emails to the USA and UK, so waiting for a reply from them. The prices range from around $350 mild steel to $500 for stainless steel. I am hoping if I get one from the UK they take the 20% VAT off, which I sure they do. So will keep searching, there is also Pipemasters in Qlds, not sure if they do them or anyone here delt with them, but will give them a call also.
Will take the old one to an exhaust place see if they can patch them so I can get it over for rego, if that works, least I can ride while looking.
So any info from riders on who they have used for any of their Honda 4"s would be great. If you delt with a decent mob, don't care if it is overseas or Australia, let me know and I will contact them, thanks all.

There is a maker in Queensland, Brisbane, I think. He made a muffler/exhaust set for my mates CB750 DOHC police bike using the old system as patterns. If I can find out his name I'll post it here.

Thanks Krusty. When I got the bike, I thought finding an exhaust would be easy, guess I was wrong, but determined to win!

I bought a Motad four into one from David Silvers, took four days to arrive, ordered it on Sunday night and I had it on Thursday.  Quality is great, stainless headers and chrome muffler, and the price including shipping was just a little over half of what it would have cost me to buy one locally, and I would have had to wait two weeks to get it.

Thanks Trueblue, I sent them an email today, waiting for a reply. Think they had a basic set for around $350 US. What did yours cost if you don't mind asking? Prefer to support an Aussie if price is not over the top.

Tranzac is the mob I was thinking of. I also like the look of the ones from DS - the ones that Trueblue has purchased. Pat

Can't remember exactly, I think it was just shy of $500 landed at my door.  I like to try to support locals but I don't earn enough to be able to a lot of the time.  Australian made, unfortunately, is just getting too expensive.  :-\

Trueblue, just got a email from DS and no price and that I may need other parts, I still have all the original bits and pieces.
You may be able to help with this question, he reckons it all bolts straight on like stock. Did you find this to be true with yours. Did you have to modify to connect muffler to the bike or did it bolt on like stock.
Sorry to ask so many questions, but like to know before I part with $500 or $600 .
CB 750, did you use Tranzac and if so how did you find their product and price?
Thanks

No I have not used Transzac but I made some enquires a few years ago and the prices seemed reasonable. I was looking for a replacement for a 4-1 system for my F2. The person whom I spoke to indicated that he could build a header similar to stock in SS. A member of this forum has done this for an F1 and at the time he was very pleased with the system. If I remember his name I will contact you. Pat

Like i said earlier, his name is Mick, he's a nice guy and he makes all his pipes, they are not reproductions of Honda pipes, they are all aftermarket, he is a friend of a friend of mine and his shop is 10 minutes from where i live, been there a couple of times.

Does anyone remember the walker 4 into 1made in aus during the seventies ? The best looking 4 into 1 I have seen. We used to use a beer can as a.  baffle around town to keep the cops off our back, then take it out of town , give it some stick and.......BANG !  Straight through system. Love to get another one.

You could still get Walkers in the 80's mate, I had one on my 1984 CBX750, chrome headers with a gold can... ;)

The early ones for K1/K2 were a megaphone style similar to the transac with a removable baffle. Most of my mates threw their original 4 into 4 away and put on the walkers. It makes me cringe now to think of how many HM300/HM341 went to the tip.

It's the age old saying "If I only knew then what I know now." Who would have thought a sand cast CB750 would sell for a $148K. I bought a 1965 GTO when I was a senior in High School (1972) for $500 and sold it after a year. Talk about cringing.

Hi all, just an update on the search, seemed to narrow it down to 3 suppliers.
1)  Tranzac, wants about $800 Aus delivered to NSW for steel and chrome.
2) 4 into 1 have a Motard System Chrome and steel from the States delivered for $542 Aus
3)David Silver out of the UK has a set for $594 Aus delivered steel and chrome.
price is important, but also who is the most trustworthy and has the best product I guess.
So if you have used any of these suppliers, let me know what you think of them?
Thanks

I haven't dealt with #1 or #2 but the only complaint I have ever heard about David Silver Spares is the cost of shipping small orders. He has a good reputation for parts availability and carries OEM and aftermarket at reasonable prices.

Yes, i remember them, like the old Hanco's...

Wolf, if you are just after any exhaust for a honda 4 there are plenty of people making pipes for the 750/4. Is there anything you are specifically after...?
