Fork spacers?? Cb750
« on: September 18, 2014, 11:43:46 AM »
Hi all!! So apparently my new progressive springs I ordered should have also come with spacers and some washers as well. I know the length of the spacer should be between 3/4 and an 1" but what about the diameter??? If I was home I'd just take out a set of calipers and measure the ID of the forks and get something just a little smaller than the 35mm...but I'm at work and a little impatient. Thanks all, you're the greatest!!! -Dan

They use what amounts to PVC and fender washers. OR even standard washers. Just something so the springs don't dig into the PVC. But that's ot really a problem, the ends of the spings are machined to provide a flat surface. The washer just gives more perch.

So you can exeriment with spacer length by cutting your own.

Now to do some calculating: 35mm less wall thickness 3mx2 =29mm = 1.14" round down. USe 1" pvc and flat washers with an OD < 1 1/8".

Could be 1.25" PVC but that = 31.75mm which would be a tight fit. (Do they make 1 1/8PVC?)  and IIRC the spacers are sloppy in the tube.
PS: Seems they make both. Buy both they are cheap.
