I've decided to take a crack at converting my 76 cb550's points/conds. ignition to electronic using cb650 parts.
The mod. engineering/wiring seems fairly straightforward (taking cues from the thread below, and 550/650 wiring diagrams), I'm just not sure if I will need to replace the spark advancer with a 650's. The advancers look almost identical.. almost. The 650's seems to have a slightly smaller lock nipple on the back, and the 550's is slightly less elliptically shaped on the end of the shaft (if this makes sense).
The only parts I have left to buy are a pair of igniters- 10 each- so I'm in it for the haul, and haven't really spent much to begin with anyway.
I've also added my wiring diagram for the conversion.
