Brake pedal interchangeability question?
« on: December 18, 2006, 06:46:40 AM »
hey guys,i have a 76 cb550k,i am trying to install a 4 into 1 from a 550f model,so my brake pedal is in the way.i have heard that i can use a brake pedal from an f model and it should solve most of this problem.i have had no luck finding one,so i was wondering will any other model brake pedals work?or does anyone have a header that would work for me,and maybe be interested in a trade for my f model header pipe? thanks ed

The part no. for the '76K brake pedal is: 46500-323-020
The part no. for the '76F brake pedal is: 46500-390-000

The -323- is the model number for the CB500K2, so the K model brake pedal seems to be the same for the '73 500 and the '74-'76 550's.  But you really want the 550F pedal, and that model number (-390-) references the '76 & '77 550F's.  So at the least, you can use an F pedal from either '76 or '77 550F, I don't know about any other years/models though.

Beats me, I only have a K.  I used the parts fiche, and it kind of looks that way from the images, but it does make sense.

Not just different bends, the pivot is in a different place on the frame.
Only answer is get a spare pedal for yours and do some cut and shut welding
