Most choppers are single rail or top tube from head stock to seat area.
 On the stock frame the 2 extra rails are in the way , unless you cut them out.

I believe the carbs will fit but no room for a filter.

Still researching, plan is stick to big bore kit, cam, carbs, and exhaust.  I still have a lot of questions and potential concerns the biggest being cost to actual performance.  This is a project for fun, not for racing or competition of any kind.

The biggest gains will be from the big bore and ported cylinder head; spend your money there first.

Are there any kits that are used more by members on here?  WeIsco for example?  Can anyone explain the benefits of JE pistons having compression ratios of 12+ vs Weisco that have 10+?  Is it the difference of beefing up internals like heavy duty con rods and head bolts?

836 is very popular, for street your compression ratio should be 10.5 ish.... 12 would be harder to get gas for,,

Some folks have had good luck with the cast piston 836 Cruizin Image kits, which are much cheaper than the higher compression forged pistons, and offer the biggest "bang for the buck" with regards to displacement. With good head, this will give a VERY noticeable increase in performance, even with a stock cam and crabs.

Thanks for the lead, 30 bucks a piston, pin, ring almost sounds too good to be true.  Weisco on the other hand is north of 700 for the kit.

If you plan a higher and longer lifting cam, you need other pistons with deeper valve pockets and higher CR to compensate for the overlap.

CruzinImage pockets not deep enough. Like stock pistons but 4mm wider.

Cruzinimage 836cc might take a webcam 41.

It work the other way too, pistons with higher CR need a cam with more overlap than stock.
APE, Dynoman and CycleX sell kits.
I'm sure Mike Rieck (forum member MRieck) can bake a kit for you head work included.

836 with other mods making around 80whp is OK with stock rods.

Head might need to be restored.
Cruzinimage pistons as mentioned as many use and written about in a long thread.

They have also
K7 392  +0.5mm std pistons. Lower bore cost. A little bit more compression than K0-K6 pistons.

My K2 build use the 392 61.5mm pistons. That bike runs very well now.
