Need help with carbs

I see very little info about these carbs or at least I can’t find what I’m looking for. This is the one part of the bike that I have very little knowledge about. If you see in the picture the “air screw” has a stopper that only lets me turn it a max of just under one full turn. I’m not even sure if this is the proper screw but I read that it should be lightly turn in to stop then out x number of turns, also this has the mechanical arm which operates all the carbs, not individual cables to each carb so if I was to use a vacuum gauge to sync the carbs this is where I adjust the needle in or out ?? The bike runs pretty good, pops a lot on deceleration, I did try pods at one point but ran like crap so put back the air box since my limited knowledge of carbs kind of scared me off playing around with them. There is quite a bit of chain rattle at idle which maybe syncing would help. My plan is to tear the motor apart this winter to freshen it up, burns some oil, oil from oil tank leaks in to motor when sitting for a while, change cam and primary chains etc but I would like to know how these carbs work and what screw does what so I can tinker with it this summer and before I tear it apart. I realize these are fairly simple carbs but it’s something I’ve never taken the time to learn about so any info on these particular carbs would be great. Thanks in advance.

What year, what model carbs, and what bike......appear to be cb750 carbs.......?

Won't be able to help much, as I'm in the middle of having carbs issues too......!!!!!!

It’s a 75 750f I have never seen the stoppers on the the air screw.

Those black plastic caps can be removed to facilitate further adjustment. I also have a 75F. If you remove the air screw, be careful not to lose the spring.

As for vacuuming synchronization, that other slotted brass screw is where you would screw in the adapter plugs that come with the synchronization tool. Once you have all four ready, you'd remove the gas tank, and have an auxiliary fuel tank so you could turn on the bike.  Then you'd slide back the black rubber dust caps and back off the 10mm nut, which then allows you to synch the carbs by adjusting the 17mm nut/spindle.

The other larger screw you'll see is attached to the stay plate (carb rack). This screw adjusts idle.

I just rebuilt 8 racks of round top carbs. If you have any other questions, just send me a PM.

I imagine the stoppers on the air screws are factory set at xx amount and they give you a certain amount of adjustment?? What would this be factory set at? The Hackaweek videos are great, the syncing video was very informative but he didn’t get I to the air screw adjustment

Keihin carbs for CB750 K6 have those. I do not know when introduced. The air screw has splines for it. Earlier not.
Pull off if needed. Air screw setting 1 turn out +/- 1/8

Awesome info Thanks, I guess my biggest issue was the stopper on the air screw, I didn’t realize they are removable and was wondering how they would come out. Have any of you had success with pod filters? Would lifting the needle a notch or 2 be enough or would the jets need to be bigger? I have heard that these carbs just won’t work properly with pods but I don’t know why they couldn’t.

 What size are the main jets in there now ? Stock would have been #105 for a 1975.

Save those nylon caps. I think not available anymore. If they are,  not cheap.
