4 into 4 originals to fit a '78?
« on: November 24, 2008, 08:16:09 am »
Hi guys, well i was in a bike shop the other day(y'know the small town types where one guy does everything) when he pulled out of the back a nearly mint condition original cb 750 4 into 4. well i bought it there and then, as its exactly what i need for my cafe racer project.

after browsing the forums a bit i see the frames etc had some changes over the years..My question (even if i gotta make brackets) will the original exhausts fit on my cb 750f2???

please tell me yes.

Um, 4-4's were made for the K-bikes. F bikes have a 4-1. That being said, anything can be made to fit with a torch and a hammer...but they wont bolt straight up... :-[

Well engine-wise, the mount points are different. They should still fit. The problem is the mounting on the frame. You will need to fab up brackets to hold the pipes.

Are those 4x4 pipes off of a 1978 750 K?  If so, I'd be interested it buying them from you.

A good question to ask would be what year the 4 into 4's came off from? That would give us a better chance of helping.

As for the K's being a 4 into 4, and the F's being a 4 into 1, the biggest issue I really foresea would be the mounting bracket on the brake side. F's are kicked out a bit more on that side to make room for all the disk brake stuff.
