1972 CB750 Steel Braided Lines
« on: June 21, 2009, 07:22:54 AM »
I'm looking to replace the front lines on my 72 CB750. The lower rubber hose is cracked, so I figured I'd do a little research on steel braided lines. Can anyone recommend a set that won't break the bank? I found these http://www.allbikebrakes.com/products/A.B.B-Steel-Braided-Brake-Lines-Honda-CB750-K2-1972%252d-%252d-ABF2095%252dABR2095.html but I'm not sure if they come with both lines for the front. Which ones do you guys use?

If you enlarge the picture you can see there are 2 lines in the package. It does not include the line from the
master cylinder to the junction block. Here's a picture of some on ebay....http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CB750-SOHC-braided-brake-line-kit-cafe-racer-BOTH-HOSES_W0QQitemZ190265499364QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotorcycles_Parts_Accessories?hash=item2c4cb51ee4&_trksid=p4506.m20.l1116

I can set you up with a DOT approved set of lines for 65.00 plus shipping.  The lines us stainless banjo fittings and the female at the rigid line is cadmium plated. Each line is pressure tested to 3000 PSI.  The lines are vinyl covered in clear or a tinted black. I'm hoping I can get a solid black covering in the future to maintain the stock look. You also get new copper washers with the set. If you're interest send me a PM and I'll give you more of the details.
Cheers
