1975 cb500t cafe racer build

I got my hands on an 1975 Honda CB500t for 400$ which I'm currently rebuilding into a cafe racer. I have a blog set up showcasing some progress images. This project is my first build and I'm very new to the subject, however I'm extremely motivated and excited about the project. Please check out my blog and let me know what you all think. Any help or suggestion would be awesome. Cheers

Nice work man!  That is some shop you have at your fingertips....I'm jealous.  Is that where you work?  AND the bicycle looks sweet too....those wood hand grips are a nice touch.  If you want a lot of feedback and conversation on your project I would suggest posting pics and commentary here too.

Seems like more and more projects in this thread are not SOHC Fours.....don't be surprised if it is moved to "Other Bikes".  It might not be moved but just so ya know.

ya i'm still a university student so i use the school's shop at night. I'm the night supervisor i have access. thanks for the comment

Lucky you!... I always got about picking up a class at the local CC, just so I can use the schools shop... plus discounts on material, supplies, etc.

Nice work.  Did you do the illustrations as well ?   Very nice line from the tank knee dents into the tail section - it's going to look great.

Thanks, yepp i did the sketch for the bike. i have more drawing coming soon. The other drawings will just show some details i'm putting into the bike.

Hey I just picked up the same bike and am currently underway on a build of my own.  What would you think about carving me out a seat plug or just making me a split mold? There would definitely be a few $$ in it for ya if your interested.  I'm wanting to build mine from carbon fiber, if nothing else I'll just have to make a plug with good ole fashioned foam!  ;)

   Nice tank work.  I did nearly the identical thing to my 750. I brazed mide in, as the tank was rusted thin in a few places.

 What school are you at? In one of the pics I saw what I thought was the UGA arch....

Restored a $200 75 500T and reluctantly sold it due to too many bikes. Guy who bought it had one new and had spent 2 yrs looking for another. Many SOHC parts.   http://s224.photobucket.com/albums/dd131/grumburg/s90/?action=view&current=bc2.jpg
