I'm starting a cb 650 project. I am in GR. Just got the bike running, have a bogging problem. Not optimitic on a pre-winter ride. I think I will have to wait until the spring.

HOO HA! I loved Kalamazoo when I lived there!
The ONLY reason that I left was because it had no economy other than te colleges...so I moved to Grand Rapids where I THOUGHT there was money (Home of Amway, Steelcase, Herman Miller, Baker Furniture, Zondervan, Gerald Ford  AND The Christian Reformed Church!) There is, but I have the wrong political bent and don't go to the right church to get any of it!

SW Michigan (Battle Creek / Kalamazoo) born and raised, here. ..

You are sooooo dead on about Grand Rapids. .  ..I went to college there thinking how kewl it would be in some 'progressive big city' like that. ..  . . NOT. ..  .  oh man, I don't care what yer spiritual persuasion is, it was just too much.  . .just in your face all the time, the total bible belt of the North. . .I mean, the neighboring county was DRY??? and everything shut down on Sunday. . .. it was just too weird, like pockets of the deep south are.. . no thanks

plus, GVSU really felt like a private bible college or something. . . totally not a public university vibe, courtesy of Van Andel et al. pulling the purse strings.

I'll take Ann Arbor or Kalamazoo any day, as far as college towns go. . .. .

Well, TedT and Myself are in the Kazoo neighborhood. He actually lives in Cooper and I live in Richland Township.
A good bike mechanic only needs two tools, WD40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move, but should, use the WD40. If it does move but shouldn't use the duct tape.

I'm in Kazoo, have a '73 CB500F that needs restoring, runs and rides great, just not too pretty at the moment.  I enjoy rides northeast of here in the Gull Lake area, Hastings, etc.  Some nice twisty roads.

Hey Mik,
I don't know if you've seen it, but on the "Who's in Michigan String, we have developed a good mailing list (About 30 I think) of Michigan riders. Would you like to be part of it? If so, email me @ ces@greenfrogphoto.com and I can put you on...

Hey all!

Seems as if the Kzoo clan is as close as any that I could find!

I live in Michiana, the Indiana side, just south of White Pigeon.
I guess that would be 131 in Michigan  :)

Hope to hear from some of you!
