That header looks suspiciously like the OEM 4-1 on my '76 CB550F

I don't think I could have ridden that bike until it was bug bombed.  Those chicks scare the #$%* out of me.

The crazy thing is that I found the first one, the male the day I brought it home.  Didn't find wifey until 3-4 days later and about 100 miles in the saddle!

That sent a shiver down my spine.  I don't see them too often now that I live in San Francisco, but I grew up about an hour north and they were everywhere, BIG ONES that could put a kid in the hospital.  One time I found a five inch tarantula in my friend's garage!

I like to painting spoke idea, might try that myself as my wheels could do with a tidy up but don't have the cash for complete rebuild. 

I won't be looking forward to the masking... any extra tips or tricks you could give??
