Honda rental in Denver?
« on: January 24, 2012, 08:44:35 AM »
Ok ok... I know. If I could take off two weeks from work and ride my 750 out there I would. But I can't. So, my girlfriend and I are thinking about flying into Denver this summer and renting a bike for a week. Eagleriders.com pretty much only has Harleys that will fit the bill - the only Hondas they have are a 750 Shadow and a fully-dressed Goldwing. One's too big & one's too little :)

So, are there any Honda dealers in the Denver area that rent out bikes like the Harley dealers do? Or are there any other options? In the end, I'm sure I'd be fine on a Softail or Road King, but I already feel a little weird about it ;)

I can do some checking around.
You can ride my 750 if its done when you get out here. Or if my 84 Wing is ready you can ride that.

Yeah, you boys need to get yer bikes done!  ::) Terry, what are your rates  ;)

Nobody that I know of. 2 dealers here in the Springs. 1 hour south of Denver. Apex Sports 719-475-2437 and Rocky Mountain Cycle Plaza 719-591-9700. I doubt either one rents. Pikes Peak Harley rents (Harleys).
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Yep, back in my home state!  Although I have really been missing those mountain and canyon roads. 8)

Tugboat,
What's wrong with the Goldwing?  I know they're big, but from what I've heard and seen they handle really well.  I don't know if I'd ever want to own one of the newer ones, but I wouldn't scoff at the chance to rent one for a week, especially if my wife was into it!  It's a vacation, get yourself a Cadillac on two wheels! ;D

First off, Ray! Glad you made it home safe ;)

Second, Jerry - man, that would be rad. It would really be great to meet the mastermind behind the Rally. Even though my 750 didn't make it in time, my KZ400 was featured in the Barber Museum for ONE NIGHT ONLY. Ray's K1 too, actually... I'll keep y'all posted.

Jerry- you have any suggestions as far as route?

BTW - @cb650 said this:
"If I was to plan it I would go Estes park over rocky mountain national park across 40.
Go through moab utah to the 4 corners.  Back on 285 or something.  That is a easy 4 day trip so plenty of time to do things."

I sure wish there were a better selections for motorcycle rentals.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.
