when a city falls
« on: February 21, 2012, 09:37:51 AM »
tis a sad day. one year since my beloved city was brought to it's knees. the CBD is still off limits and all the skyscrapers are slowly being demolished. they are soul less buildings anyway and no loss, it's the heritage buildings that have gone that breaks my heart.
KIA KAHA Christchurch, be strong.

A total of 6805 homes have been red zoned for demolition, encompassing the most severely damaged buildings.

600 buildings in the CBD have been demolished, another 600 to go.

I'd think the insurance companies must be bankrupt.

It is a shame to see old historic and beautifully made buildings destroyed. It must be quite depressing for the people.
