Can i swap carburetors?
« on: March 05, 2012, 05:03:28 PM »
I just received my rack of carburetors for my 1975 cb750f that i bought off ebay. Well the guy sent me 3 good carbs and one with the upper float bowl mount cracked. Is it possible to use another carburetor off of my other rack? The only one that is good on my other rack is #3. I know they are the same but some passage ways are not the same. Any help is appreciated, thanks guys.    Here is a picture of my carb, think it could be welded?

Yes, the bodies for the 07A, 657A/B, and 086A carbs are functionally the same.
Only the jets are different.

You can replace them no problem but your replacement body has to be the same number. If your bad one is a #3 then you're fine.

There is a possibilty that a good gasket may still seal that as the sealing surface is on the leading ege of the bowl. Only way to tell is to filler up and slosh/tip it around to see. You can do that off the bike.
