blown fuse
« on: April 14, 2012, 10:09:35 PM »
Hi
just picked up my new old CB350/4. :)
Started it, rode it onto the trailer, drove it home on the trailer 40 miles.
Off loaded it, went to start it and it wouldn't start. :(
The fuse has had blown.
Replaced fuse , turn key on and it blow straight away.
wiring looks OK.
Any hints where to start looking :)

A good place to start is anywhere the wiring goes around a corner and is touching the metal of the frame, around the headset where there is a lot of movement and under the seat where when you sit on the bike you can push it into contact with metal without realising it, just a few starting points. :D

Found
it was in the left hand switching block.
The locating pin for the handlebar to stop the lever and switchbox turning on the bars had dropped out and caused the short.
