can you install a "bio cycle"or "enviro cycle system" for less cost?

What about a tragic insurance fire Larry? You supply the airline ticket and a CZ250 Enduro to get around on, and I'll bring the matches!  ;)
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Thanks Greggo.   The house I am selling just failed the 3 foot perc test so they need to come out and do a 6 foot dig.  If it fails that it would be worst case financial scenario, but, God willing, I still should wind up debt free...Larry

Bummer. What do they do, remove and replace material?

Seems like an established  place wouldn't  have to  be  re-inspected.

Terry,   they have to dig another drain field if the 6 foot perc test passes.  If it fails, a sand mound system will need to be installed.  The system works fine as far as I am concerned but the buyer's mortgage company had it tested and it failed the government requirements.  Government here is so large it is unfathomable.  The local state rep even has two to three aides...Larry

THERE'S A HOLE IN MOMO'S YARD WERE ALL THE MONEY GOES :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Still have not made settlement on the old house due to the supposed septic failure.  So I am carrying two houses and dumping fistfuls of money into the house I am selling.  Total cost should be close to 16000 when all is done and hopefully the settlement date of July 2 will be met...Larry

All the best with that Larry, that really sucks mate, what ever happened to the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" spirit? Cheers, Terry. ;D

Thanks,Terry.   Once Big Brother gets involved all reason and logic gets thrown out with the bath water.  Even more insidious than that though is there are fistfuls of dollars to be made.   The one saving grace though is my new house should be paid for-although I won't have any money to do repairs but it should be free and clear-unless I don't pay my taxes and it gets taken away ...Larry

I have not had much time to post due to settlement of the old house, moving and unpacking.  I will post some photos of the new shop in a couple days but in the  meantime I just shook hands on an agreement to buy a 1972 Honda SL350K2.  It has 5600 miles, dent free gold  tank, uncracked fenders, good tires, decent chrome, clear PA title.   Should be a simple(famous last words) resto.  Supposed to pick up after work tomorrow, then will post photos of the bike, new shop and some of the work I've done inside the new house...Larry

I love those twin cylinder "Street Scramblers" Larry, I've always wanted an SL450, let me know if you find a nice low mileage example, I'd like to add one to my motley collection, along with that beautiful CZ of course! ;D

Terry, don't think there was ever an SL450.  Got a chance to take some photos of my new 1972 SL(I think it stood for sled ::) 350 K2 with 5600 dent-free miles-really odd for a 40 year old dirt bike.  Cleaned the carbs, set timing, checked for loose nuts and bolts, cleaned and oiled the  foam air filters, tightened spokes( some are so seized I am going to have to respoke the rear wheel as I broke one spoke trying to adjust it. Kicked it 4 times and it fired right up.  Only had a jumper battery, so I drove 20 miles to get a battery, which is now charging.  If there is time tomorrow I will give it a ride ;D ;D.   Here are photos

Yep, the seal stayed on the plug, but check the position of the yellow wire, which was a common problem "back in the day." The terminal is turned out so that it grounds against the point cover when it is put on, causing the bike to run on one cylinder.  I put the battery in after a slow initial charge on my Ctek charger.  Raining too hard to test ride so that'll have to wait till another day.  The PO said he last rode the bike in 2010...Larry

Yep, fiddy the repair should last for generation upon generation for the new owners.  Hopefully, they appreciate the bonus repair and my 19K sacrifice.

On a brighter note,  weather was fine, new battery installed after fully charging on my Ctek charger so I went out to the back roads on my new SL350.  Bike runs great, a bit difficult finding neutral but smooth idling and ample power.  It was a great find-5 hours and $30 to bring it back to life   ;D ;D ;D  Anyone interested in an SL350? ...Larry

NADA puts it between 1325 and 3200, Terry.  I would ask 2000 for what I consider to be a very good condition bike-especially considering it is a 40 yr. old dirt bike.

Yep, I think you're right on the money Larry, I did an EBay check after I posted the question and there is a nice restored one currently at around 3K, and a low mileage original but slightly tatty one for around 2. I still like your CZ better though, only because I had one and really want another............ ;D

Thanks for the compliment, hard to beat a classic style house with a three car barn/garage..

On a sadder note, I took the SL out for another short test ride- the sloppy finding of neutral turned into a major shift problem.  It started acting up about 2 miles from home, so I immediately turned back and was able to get back to the shop.  Have not had time to take the right crankcase cover off but I am somewhat positive that it is a linkage problem only.  The right cover had been removed previously so I am hoping reassembly was not done correctly...Larry

Re: MoMo's new shop in Gap, PA UPDATE
« Reply #73 on: August 26, 2012, 05:04:17 PM »
Been busy since I completely moved here finalizing the shop section.  One on the best things I did was put the compressor in the separate two car section and run pvc into the shop section.  NoMo noise ;D .

Notice the speakers sitting on the floor, they are a set of vintage Sansui S-815 that I picked up at an auction for $20. They sound awesome 8) but I need to mount them somewhere so I can listen to my 70s/80s LP collection whilst working. I used some early vinyl to decorate.

And a needlepoint my Grandmother made of Murphy's Law.

Shelving to organize

Plenty of space for the tool boxes ;) ;)

Here is the latest bike I resurrected from the dead, a very butchered CL350 that only needed the basics-tune up, carb cleaning and general service. Runs well but needs handlebars, seat and muffler guards.

Also, working on a 1984 Honda Sabre VF700 that needs the suspension sorted out and a clutch push rod seal.  My research led me to the conclusion that the motor needs to be pulled to change that.  Can anyone verify that?   Pics to follow on the next update...Larry

That little tank is my remote tank.
