Brake Master Cylinder Question/Opinions
« on: April 04, 2012, 08:34:39 PM »
Hello all,

I have decided to go with a late model aftermarket front brake master cylinder for my '75 750F cafe project.  My question is what is the optimal piston size to operate the stock front brake caliper.  I used the Vintage Brake chart (I think I did the calculations correctly) and came up with 12mm.  In the experience of those who have used an alternate MC with the stock caliper, does 12mm provide an acceptable feel?  In my search of the the various threads I saw mostly discussions about a dual disc set up.  Any insight on this conversion for a single disc set up is appreciated.

Thanks to all!
