First ride on my valley green cb750 K1
« on: April 22, 2012, 01:28:02 PM »
I could not stop smiling during and after the ride.  She has 40,000 miles on her ready for some more.  I bought it from the original owner last year and finally was able to ride her.  When I bought it the bike had been sitting for some time and needed some attention.  Life seemed to get in the way and the bike kept getting pushed back and back.  But wow  what a feeling to be out on the road.  Has a production date of 9/70 and yes,  the sissy bar will be coming off-the orig owner wants to see the bike now that it is running so I thought I would keep it on there for him.

Very nice indeed.  Congratulations.

And props for thinking about the PO when thinking about the sissy bar.  I am sure he will get a kick out of seeing it just like back when he had it.  :D

Sweet looking ride! Wowsas! Did you have to take her apart to make her gleam or just some soap and elbow grease?!

Wow! :)

It's really good to see an original Valley Green Honda 750 as there’s not many surviving examples around as compared to the other colors. That Trident style sissy bar screams period correct from back in the day ...

Trivia tidbit: The 750 K1 was the only K model that was produced in six different colors for world-wide sales.

Candy ruby red
Candy gold
Candy garnet brown
Valley green metallic
Polynesian blue metallic

It's really hard to tell it has 40K on it.  The PO doesn't seem to have left any horror stories for you judging by the cosmetics.  I think I found a new favorite color.

A sissy bar is just right for asstit formerly known as Prick.   ::)

You know what's funny is, when I was selling the touring stuff off my bike, there was a backrest/luggage rack and crashbar setup, and I was planning to sell both the rack and crashbar together for 20 bucks.  The buyer of the backrest (Pecantree) came by and graciously gave me the full price I was asking for BOTH pieces, and left the crash bar behind.  I thought fine, that will save the next guy 10 bucks.  When the 2nd guy came by to pick up the crash bar, he rolled up on a CB750 with a massive sissy bar like the Prince setup.  How did he get the crash bar home?  By lashing it to the sissy bar of course. ;D

Your bike has been nonimated for June Bike of the Month. You will need to go to that area of the SOHC board to accept the nomination.
