1971 Honda CB500 electronic ignitions issues

1971 Honda CB500 Four

This bike has electronic issues. I finally got it running great with the points system but then I had the bright idea to get a dyna electronic ignition. I put it on exactly like the diagram said to and powered it from the fire that comes from the coil that has 2 and 3. It fired right up and ran great for a couple weeks. Then on a drive home I noticed power loss and the bike was just running on cylinders 1 and 4. I pushed the bike home and tested to see if there was power running through the junction that powers the ignition and there is but there is no spark on those two plugs. I put the points system out and then there was spark. I don't want to go back to the points system after spending $150 on the electronic ignition. Like I said the wiring system is a cluster "F". What would cause the bike to run fine for a couple weeks with the electronic ignition then nothing?

Any ideas or leads?

THANKS SOOOOO MUCH!

Yes, the Dynas have been known to fail exactly as yous has. If it is new call them Tuesday and make a claim. I had mine fail also as did a lot of people.
