Ok. Have a question. Got everything taken apart and replaced the brass and gaskets, cleaned the hell out of the carbs and go them back on the bike :) Now the only brass I didn't replace was the jet needle (screws weren't budging and I was afraid of stripping them). On one of the needles, I decided to try and scrub the light gunk off with a green pad. I noticed it scored the surface a bit so decided against doing the others. Would this compromising of the surface of the jet needle affect the way the bike runs ie: cool, hot, rich, lean? Can it be THAT finicky?

Number four cylinder pipe is running cooler than the other three. I checked spark and have that. Going to compression test tonight on all cylinders. It was warm, but not sizzling like the others when water was sprayed at them.

Not yet. I need to also do the idle/air screw mixture. That could do it?

So what happened? Did you find a reason for high idle?

I have the very same problem in my CB350F.

Double check valve clearances. I loosened the valve gaps 0.001" and the high revs when warm seem to have gone away.
