'74 CB750, simple restoration.
« on: June 08, 2012, 09:31:21 PM »
so i picked up this 1974 cb750 for $400.  i had originaly planed on making it into a cafe racer, but decided to go with more of a restoration insted.  when i got it it was not much of a looker.  it ran well but was in need of a good cleanup.  so i tore the whole thing down to the frame. cleaned all  the welds on the frame. got lots of new parts and spent a long time cleaning the rest.  now i almost have it back together just need to get the carbs working right.

Is the frame rattle can paint?  Looks very nice on the frame, the tank as well.  My 550 frame is almost done stripping of old paint and rust.  Leaning toward rattle can paint job to save money for engine work.

Great choice!  Looks really nice! :)

Excellent idea to restore vs cafe. The bike looks very nice and vintage too. You will get a lot of envious looks on that around town. Nice job!!!

the bike had so many original parts on it, it would have not been right to do anything other than a restoration.  the bike was almost compleatly original other than the seat, exaust which someone choped off  ::), and the reat chrome bar that holds the turnsignals was also sawzalled off,  i still need to find a good one to replace it.
