1976 400 four rear sets

I am looking for a set of rear sets for my 400 four. Does anyone know of someone or somewhere I can buy a set or get a set made

Will do. I have not actually started stripping the bike yet, I am in the process of collecting a lot of the parts first then hope to be getting the project started around September. Will probably have parts that are of no use to me so keep watching.

Hi James,

You can check out Raask (available from M+P in the UK), TTR400.com, and MC Again (Japan).  All produce bolt on rearsets for the 400f.

I've been riding around with a set of Tarozzis on my 400f for the last couple of weeks, and I like them a lot.

Jneuf - were they bolt on out of the box, or did you have to make up brackets?  Are you able to use the kicker?  Any pics?

Definitely not bolt on. Someone made up some really slick cnc'd brackets so my bike is being used as a bit of a test subject. My electric start doesn't even work, so I have to use the kicker! It clears, but barely. Sorry, no pictures, but I'll try to get some up soon.

I have the raask on my cb500 and they bolt right on. However , on the cb 500 you can't use the kick starter, unless you have it bent, which I don't. Not sure what the deal is for the 400 but something to consider

The TTR400 set is bolt on and super slick. I have a kit and recommend it.

I agree with Camelman, the TTR400 (TTR400.com) rearsets are the best there is.
They bolt right on without having to make any modifications, and everything you need is included.
The only drawback is that you will loose the functionality of your kick starter, but TTR400 can supply you with a kick starter blanking plug (about $20) so you can remove the internal mechanism and shave some weight off the motor.

The Rask rearsets are a joke, they are made of sandcast aluminum and the linkage uses cheap quality heim joints. Plus you will be considered a lucky man if the alignment holes match your frame without having to break out a file and remove a bunch of material.

Just my two cents worth....

Thanks guys for your help. Had a look at the Raask one and wasn't too impressed with them. Had a look at the ones from TTR and at the moment they look the favourite at the moment. Lots of other good stuff on their web site. Keep the posts coming.

How much do the TTR400 sets change your foot position? With the normal pegs I have to fold myself up on the bike, and although the sets look cool, I wouldn't want to have my knees at the height of my shoulders.

I am pretty sure the TTR rearsets put your feet 6 cm up and 8 cm back from the stock position.
