And I saw a few Honda's too.  :)

Hey Ranger... why didnt you bring the 360, thought I saw you recently finished it?

Saw you and then you were gone, you didnt stay for the band, BBQ or campfire?
Dont think any others of our group saw you?

Another GREAT Harvest Classic, I've been going since 2012.

On Friday, we did the "south loop" ride with a stop at Alamo Springs Cafe, had a great Smoked Turkey Sandwich since I wasnt in the mood for a hamburger [sorry no pic].  Was a good ride with Chris +1, Bud, Bryne+1, David & Mike!  The "Fun Run" kicked off at 4pm, I rode a short distance with them on my Wheelie Pit Bike!  The band later that evening was good and the stories around the campfire were funny! Vodka works!!

Woke up Sat morning to the smell of bacon, thx to ChrisP for the great breakfast tacos! At 11am, kickstands were up for the ride up to "The Rock". The usual suspects were joined by Kevin, Rich on his sweet yellow GL, Joe [CBGhia] and his wife Sandy, on her bike. And Mike!  Bud led us on an alterative  route thru Fburg to avoid traffic on Main st and once on the open road, I blasted by him on the Z1 to "blow out the cobwebs"!  We were nearing the turnoff to view The Rock and I had caught up to a car when suddenly I see something in the middle of the road with no time to avoid it. Ended up being a dead raccoon and I hit it, but luckily lost no control. Bud was behind me and said it skidded to the side and he missed it. Wild!
We then continued on and had a lunch stop at Pecan Grove. Rick gave us the grand tour of his work shop and bike collection, very impressive. After lunch, we headed back to the Classic.

The bike show was excellent as always, but seemed a bit low on bikes entries than in years passed.  None of our gang entered any bikes, and I was a little surprised not to see any Kawasaki's that I own  [Z1, H1, H2]. Oh well, my bikes are riders, not show bikes.  Another band in the afternoon was very good and then came the auction.  Bidders were very generous and the gorgeous CB350 race bike went for $19,000!  They easily reached their goal of $1M [over the course of the Classic].  Afterwards was a good BBQ dinner followed by the movie, but most of us chose to hang out by the campfire and drink vodka & whiskey!

Another great HC and sad to think this is the last one.  But I'm confident this crew will come up with another plan to get together next October and I cant wait to see y'all again!

Here are a few random pics....

Great write-ups Steve and Bud.  Good to see everyone Saturday and join the ride.  Glad I didn't hit any racoons though a beautiful axis buck crossed in front of me in the gap between me and the group well ahead of me.  That raised the heart rate some.  Hoping that the Pecan Grove store can pick up this event in the future.

The latest issue of Motorcycle Classics has a nice article about the 2022 Harvest Classic, lamenting its demise.
I don't think they've made it available online yet.

Hey Bud...yes, saw it and we plan to go!   Can you ask/check out the camping area when you are there next? [dont go out of your way but know you are close]  I'm sure our buddies from Hou and DFW will want to join us.  Thanks

I rode to the Pecan Grove Store today and talked to Rick, the owner, about "The Ton" in October.  He only has room for about 20 tents in the campground for bikes that ride in.  No trailers.  He has more room in the bier garden, but you can’t BYOB in the bier garden due to TABC rules.  If you’re trailering, he recommends staying at the Ladybird Johnson campground in Fredericksburg or the Oxford Ranch, which is north on 16 near Llano.

If you want to reserve a camping spot at Pecan Grove he said the best thing to do is message Pecan Grove on Facebook and it goes directly to him.  He also has a few glamping tents for rent.

I'll be checking out a place on Hwy 965 called the Frontier Outpost that also has tent camping.  I'll post when I find out what they've got.

Hey Bud...Thx for checking out the camping situation for us.

Will be curious to see what the Frontier Outpost has to offer, their fakebook pics make it appear like the wild west and be worth checking out.
Most concerned about what they have in the restroom dept as some of the guys may bring wives.

Thx again

Anyone coming out for the "Do the Ton Motorcycle Rally" at the Pecan Grove Store in Fredericksburg on 10/20-21?

FYI, don't camp at the Frontier Outpost on 965.

Hey Bud...I reached out to a few of the regulars that we've gone with and seems they are busy with other plans:

Bryne - going to the Bahamas for his 25th Anniversary
Joe and DFW crew - going camping Oct 13-15 to view the eclipse near Fredburg
Chris - going on an RV trip to Big Bend
And I may be going to the F1 race - have missed it the last few years since it was always the same weekend as the Harvest Classic

Oh well.  I'll probably check it out on Saturday.

I'll probably be hanging out on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere, north of Vanderpool on the 14th for the eclipse.

Y'all didn't miss much.  It was a cool, little shindig, but too many people in a small place.

I posted a few photos here.

Nice. Thanks for the report! It's a shame there's no Classic any more.  :(
