Where to get TEK brand points

I am hoping someone can tell me where I can purchase the TEK points for my 1976 Honda CB550.  I went to my local Honda dealer and they said they could not be certain that I would get TEK's  and suggested I buy a new plate.  I don't really want to do that and thought that I had read on this forum that TEK points are still available.  Mine are not horrid but I want to reinstall Hondaman ignition so decided to put on new points (mine are the originals).
Any help would be appreciated.  ;D

How many mles since your last tune up? (I know you recently went on that awesome trip!)

May be time for your full 3000 mile tune up that Honda recommends?

They are TEC +1 RR and that is what my Honda dealer all ways carries Also if you order oem from DSS that is what you get But shipping :o. I would take a chance with the dealer. That is oem and what they should get for you. I just did the same thing New TEC with HondaMans setup.Toyo electric company.

About $24.00 each. With HondaMans ign. box if you keep your felt lubed they will be the last pair for a long long long did I say long time.

I had the same issue about a year ago; ended up just buying the whole plate from my local dealer.  I think I paid $50 or $60 and the whole thing (points/condensers/plate) is TEC.  I'm also running a Hondaman ignition.  Seemed to make sense to replace the whole shebang when I installed it.  Now I can just forget about it.  Between those and replacing the coils with dyna 5ohm along with wires and NGK plug caps it's like night and day.  Runs smooth, starts much quicker.

Mine are definitely TEC.  Having spent way too much time reading my Hondaman manual, I now wouldn't use anything else.  The other benefit is the plate came with the rubber seal that surrounds the wires and seals against the case.  Three decades had taken its toll on the one I had and I was worried about water finding it's way into the points.

Doing the tune up now. Completed oil change, valves (no change at all since last one even after going 2500+ miles on my trip), checked the points (both adjusted now), will do timing and carb sync but thought if I was going to put in new points would wait.  And yes I meant TEC not TEK... ;)
The dealer had them from Toyo which I now can see is TEC (so confusing).  I will see if they can order the entire plate if it is TEC I know they had points from Toyo (which they were certain were that brand).  Guess I can add changing out points to my list of new skills.  :-*  I love my CB550.

You may want to check/change for spark plug caps too.

Checked them and they all looked good too. Have yet to pull the plugs and have a peek though.  That will be tomorrow.  I haven't ridden since returning from my trip (just maintenance) and I miss it...ha ha.  Did put in a maintenance free battery and that is a blessing.  That lead/acid thing was a total hassle.  Looking for a contact breaker plate now and will get to that next weekend.  Maybe next time I break down I can fix it all by myself  8)
