Do they have any thing like a sock for the mic.? Picture is good. Post a pic of it mounted.

I was using the chest mount, so it's physically strapped to me.  There is a output jack for a microphone, so maybe running an external mic closer to the engine would cancel out some of the wind?  I've seen people use fur or foam around the back of the camera case to help with wind noise as well.

Yeah, any sort of mic cover should help- fur, foam, sock, whatever. You could even get an external recorder and strap that to your frame where it'll get the engine, loud and clear, and then mix that in later, but that might be a pain.

If you get the full back door on the Go Pro it should cut down on your wind noise since it's used to make it waterproof.

That makes sense, but for some reason the GoPro manual says to use the open back door specifically to cut down on wind noise.  I know, it seems counterintuitive.  Maybe a typo? I'll try it out and compare

GoPro recommends the skeleton case or open back door only for slow speed vehicle recording.

I always use my full waterproof housing on the bike.  Here's one of my vids from last year in Alabama including slow and high speed runs.

Oh wow, that's just with the normal waterproof back? Huge improvement. I swore the manual said for speeds up to 100mph. Maybe it said 10mph. Thanks
