Time and Time agin. These fools create more fight in my house than I can stand. Many times they make me want to take a damn long run.  >:( They want the $100 part for $9, and then they HAVE to give me #$%* about the part and it's cost (even at the $9 bucks). These guys make Hard Core Harley Riders look like saints!!!

In the future I will charge anyone with a Yamaha a $50 service charge to remove thier worthless bike. I will feed that mutha f'er to the shredder and post video. These guys create more havoc than they are worth. I HATE Yamacrap owners.................................

Harley's kick Yamacraps arse. At least thier owners are nicer. They think. They are resonable people who expect to pay for thier parts.

XS650 and Radian are good bikes.  Kawasaki W650 is a terrific bike.  KLR is a good'n. So, either brand is not a total loss.
I currently have a Yammi and would love to shower you with sheckles for the parts I asked about.  '74 RD60 rear fender and some tid-bits. I spend money on my dog and my bikes.  No holds barred. Open invitation.

Sorry you had a bad day.

             Hey Tom,

Sure glad you don't live in Arkansas, cause when I can get around to it and get my RD350
going, I don't want you coming after my bike or me. Sure, my main cause is Honda (Can't
afford an original Indian) but, I do have a few Yamahas, a Kawasaki F9 350 Big Horn and a
Hodaka Road Toad. You're not gonna hold that against me or you? Ha! Ha! ;D ;D Sorry that
you have to deal with the worst. Later on, Bill

this could also be a case of "trust your mechanic"
most people (not just dead kennedys fans) are so used to being ripped off by mechanics that they will go in with an insulting low-ball attitiude.  Myself i like to wait until someone actually makes a move n the rip off direction then shame them into a fair price.  but then agian i am way more sophisticated than most people. i ride a honda.

  • So, what do ya wanna talk about today?
Normally I'd say that there are just as many dickheads riding Honda's as any other brand, but I remember talking to a Kawasaki dealer/mechanic years ago, I'd gotten him to fit new tires on my BMW R100RS and we got to talking about various bike brands over coffee and a cigarette.

Anyway, he wouldn't buy, sell or trade BMW's so when I asked why (thinking that he didn't like non-jap bikes as some don't) he replied "there's nothing wrong with the bikes, just the dickheads who ride 'em."

When I pushed him to explain, he went on about how they wouldn't buy a used bike from him if there was no factory service manual present, or non standard modifications, (like exhaust systems or fairings) or lack of the factory tool kit, etc etc, and were just painful to deal with.

At that stage I was a member of the BMW club and I'd met a lot of BMW owners and I really couldn't argue with him, the club was full of these wankers. I'm just about to buy another BMW and the seller (a mate of mine) wants me to rejoin the club so he'll have someone half decent to talk to at club events, but I don't think I'll bother. I like the bikes, but I don't like the dickheads who ride them, ha ha! ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

terry - i take it you've spent a little time tinkering around on them - are the old 70's airheads any more difficult to work on than our bikes here?

Like Tim says CBJ, they're dead simple to work on, providing that you are a reasonable mechanic with some experience. they are built tough though, and are very forgiving to poor maintenance, compared to our bikes. I'm buying a 1992 K1100LT this week, (four cylinder dohc tourer) it'll be my second K bike, they are considered rather "bland" compared to the old airhead twins, but I've had both and I prefer the K's.

This one has all the touring gear (panniers, top box, stereo, ABS etc) and is a real "mile muncher".Being winter here in the frozen land of Oz, I'm looking forward to to some comfy winter riding, I told my wife that I'm buying it and surprisingly she didn't murder me, so I'll pick it up this weekend and post some pics on my first ride. Not CB750 stuff I know, but I'll keep my 750's for the warmer weather now, after 35+ years on the road, I'm sure that either they or I deserve some small comforts, ha ha! Cheers, Terry. ;D

So I guess that Anubis Cycle will be renamed to "Classic Honda parts"...

If you want wanker attitude, just wait a couple of years. Most of the posers that don't like to clad in leather buying Harleys are buying Ducatis. They won't let be seen with a matching jacket and helmet -Momo brand if possible, or if not, Ducati rebadged helmets-.

One of my other bikes is a BMW R100GS-PD, so I get to see plenty of that BMW attitude on the part of some from both sides.  When I'm on the GS, I am one of the elite, but if I am on one of the Honda's, their noses are in the air.  Of course, the BMW I have is an old airhead, so there are some who are riding newer BMW models that look down on my old GS.  It is pretty stupid, so who gives a sh!t what they think?

Hee hee. Thought I better post a pick of my Yamaha project. Now I'm just riding the CB 750. The fun work is all Yamaha...
Now I had never riden an RD 350 till this one. You don't get this kinda rush on a CB...<GRIN> I wouldn't give up my CB, but it was time for a change. I'm diggin the two stroke. The two strokes are actually more of a challenge, because most are of the parts are in Europe,or India.

Of course the goal is to make pic1 look similar to pic 2..

There's two worlds of Beemer folks. Most of the newer/bigger types are only haughty because they're scared. They don't know how to check their own tire pressure.  It's just like in Zen And The Art of Motorcycle Mainentance- they can't cut up a soda can for a shim, they have to have a Beemer mech do it.
That said, I've had BMWs from a '52 R67/2 up to an '82 R65LS.  Great bikes. Easy to work on, but the parts prices will blow your mind.

Hey Ernie, have you tried Moto Bins in England? Bloody good prices on parts, and super-quick delivery! They're the David Silvers Spares of BMW's! Cheers, Terry. ;D
