Question about early style 750 carbs

Does anyone know the stock needle shim position?  I know theres 6 or 7 slots where it can go but i'm not sure if mine was ever moved before I owned it.  I was assuming the very top slot would be stock but thats just a guess and I wanted to be sure.

If you are talking about the 4 cable style carbs, I am pretty sure they came with the needles set in the middle, #40 slow jets, and #120 main jets.

Ditto on kmb69. My K0 and K1 carbs came with the needle set in the middle slot. Cliff.

The carbs came off a 73 cb750k.  And i'm pretty sure a 105 or a 110 main jet..can't think right now

Early style carbs are usually referred to as the 1 into 4 cable models that were on the K0.  The carbs you have would be the  later style that were on the K1 through K6,  K7 and K8 had another style that utilized an accelerator pump...Larry

If your carbs are 7A's, then it is the 3rd clip position down.  If they are 657B's, then it's the 4th.

They will be stamped about the head side above the hole.  (hope that makes sense)

Almost ALL japanese motorcycle carbs slide needles that have adjustable needles were FIVE grooves.

The 7A carbs were 3rd groove down from the top for the slide needle clip.
657A's were 4th needle groove down from the top for the clip.

If you have the 69-70 carbs you would know it.
They do have the four into one throttle cable.
They weigh less than all the other CB750 SOHC carbs.
 They are the easiest to adjust while on the bike.
