Need some non-Honda expertise!

Trying to get a disc brake arranged on my little CB125.

I need a master cylinder that is small, and maybe has a brake switch on it? The Kawis and Suzy's have some like this, wonder if any of y'all might know a particular one I could look for?

Otherwise, I'll be stuck with having to find a CB100 front wheel and drum brake. I'd like to stay with the 'cool' of the disc, if at all possible, tho...  :D

The little Suzuki GT185 had a front disc.Master should have a brake switch though they do get a little fragile with old age. Do you already have a rotor setup ?

My wife's 2008 Yamaha Vino 125 has a master cylinder that has a nice lever with a mechanical brake switch and a window in the reservoir. It also accepts the rear view mirror.     Here's one that's missing the lever for $36:

I just happened to have the Vino in the garage to look at but it looks like there might be some viable solutions in the scooter market. Pretty much all of the modern scooters have a front disc and I'm guessing they all have a brake switch. Also, the Vino has 7/8" bars FWIW.

Check out the smaller dirt-bikes and quads, as well as the Chinese clones.

Yep, my little 125 has a front disc: it had a mechanical caliper. They weren't much when new, and all of them have now failed for the special bearing inside which falls apart with use. Others here have helped me muster a CB350F front caliper, which I now have mounted, but need a small master w/the switch so I don't add 5 lbs. of hose, junctions, reservoir, and fluid, to a 15 lb. front end(!).

That VINO thing looks close, has similar fittings, it seems. Thanks for the ideas, guys: I'll mosey past the scooter stores here and take a look-see!

Keep in mind Yamaha uses left handed mirror threads on the right side.
At least they used to do so, worth a check before buying.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread.  Any updates on this? I'm trying to find a replecement caliper for my 1975 CB125 with the mechanical disk brake.  Any caliper bolt right up? I dont' mind adding the hoses and master cylinder and all that jazz.

Yep, that's what I am attempting. It doesn't need a lot of hydraulic power, such a small bike.

There's a good idea! I didn't know they existed? I'll have to measure the hose fittings, don't know the size offhand.

Really there are only two sizes, 10x1.00mm and 10x1.25mm
Pretty sure you wouldn't use an inch size m/c they are mostly HD and much larger
I've used a couple of Suzuki RM motocross ones, very small but only 11mm bore

Keep it all Honda, man!

ATC200 master cylinder will work, MB5 too, but that's a harder bike to find parts for.

Chinese jobs go for under 20 (plus ship) on ebay, and include a brake light switch.  Can't speak for the quality, obviously, but fwiw, I have had good luck with cheap MC's lately.  Fit and finish looks decent enough.

I'm using an MB5 unit on my C100-  works good enough, certainly better than those nasty cable operated ones.
