Aloha; I'm considering a lightened alternator for my 77F. I know that Honda lightened it from the early to the late, but the one Cyclex sells is another pound lighter than mine (I think). Will there be any noticeable difference in throttle response or should I save my money?

In my opinion, the early to late rotors make the most difference. Yes you will gain some more throttle response from the next step lighter. But weigh that against this: Buz Dynoman has told me that their experience is that too light (a lighter crank and rotor) is not good. You don't have any throw weight carrying the revs and when you drop the hammer. CB750 launch times are better with a little weight according to him.
If its just the rotor you're talking about and not the crank too, then this isn't so true.
Next the lighter weight makes it harder to shift smoothly (personal experience) as the engine is twitchy due to the throttle response. This is tiring in stop and go traffic. Coming off the line slowly from a dead stop requires more throttle and slipping of the clutch. Idling around is jerky. So how is the bike going to be used? If its basically a street bike, I'd keep some weight.
Mine was and is as light as can be, crank and rotor, and it was and is an 888cc street bike. With all the side effects mentioned. And I really like it. One mitigating factor i have is more displacement calms the twitchiness down. On a stock displacement, the slow speed twitchiness will be pronounced.
