I saw 3 red streaks fly overhead in Guatemala in November 2009 heading southwest, roughly the same trajectory as those... except they had the same point of origin. It was at night so it was hard to tell if they were large and far away or small and close but they had tails like comets...

Chunks of burning metal drop into the atmosphere in a predictable way, seasonally. Those with the same trajectory  were prolly several chunks of one breaking apart and burning up. Maybe they burned up green.

we always assumed it was an old satellite or something like that and the pollution in the air just made it look red

Well it was there and aparently on several radars, meteor or space junk burnt up, wish I could have saved the loop cause it did look cool. Never checked if there were reports of it hitting the ground.

They did actually find personal artifacts after the space shuttle burned up over SE U.S., and what an awful way to go. But anyone going up to space had to have known the risk of being creamated while alive.

I  saw a flaming piece of something tumble out of the sky one night. I was the only one in the car that saw it and we were on the way home from watching Close Encounters of the third kind. Figured no one would believe me anyway after that. I watched the newspapers close for a while and never saw a report of anything.
