Honda CT90 KO questions
« on: January 23, 2013, 01:31:25 PM »
I found one for what seems like a reasonale price (around here).  Anyone out here know much about them?  Are they worth buying or are the junk?  Any thoughts on a fair price for one that is 95% all there and should just need some minor attention to get it running again?  What are they worth when they are running?

I can jump in here as  I am just about finished with mine.

CT-90 bikes are real popular, easy to get most parts and many Vendors still have OEM and aftermarket parts. Very easy to work on.

Prices vary from junk for a lot and nice ones for a little. I have seen more than one go for $850.00 that was almost prestine. The reason I did not purchase was the fact I just bought two KO's for resale. I'll have to ask $1500 for mine when it's done but it is all new for the most part. If I don't get that price I'll keep it.  ;)

The 1970 model was the first year for folding handlebars. Snowbirds love them. 1969 had an early and late model versions. Front fender reflector on early model.

I have a thread called tiddler time in other bikes section of the forum. Glad to help any way I can.

The one I am looking at is missing a side cover, a tail light and is not running.  Chrome is OK but not perfect.  Seat is ripped.  Paint is original but faded and has scratches.  I was going to buy it for a fix up and resell project.  i gave them an offer today but they turned me down.  They seem to believe it will fetch around $1000 or more.  They said they had a solid offer of $800 and they turned it down.  I told them to track down the guy who offered them $800 and take it.

I don't believe they had the offer.  So I will give it a week and see what happens.

Yeah, like I said I have seen CT 90 bikes that had under 2000 miles and just about perfect for less than that.

I paid $550 for two. Sold one.

The one I was looking at did not run, had no title, was missing one of the side covers and had normal wear on it.  When I went to look at it the price went way up.  I guess someone must have gotten how ear and told him it was worth more than it was.  He was now thinking it should fetch at least $1000. I left, the bike stayed.

Smart choice.

Right after I bought mine a guy close to me had a CT-90 with 2000 miles. It did not have the spare tank but looked like new. He was asking $850.00. Yeah, my heart skipped a beat.

Still think I should of bought it and flipped it for profit. Worth twice that as clean as it was.

I bought the '69 with the front fender reflector.  Complete and running but all the cables were in need of replacing.  Here in Arizona they are fairly pricy but I got mine for $600.  For the junk he tried to sell you south of $500 is the ballpark.  Craigslist Phoenix has them all the time running in good condition for less than $1000.

Saw one in New Mexico with 2000 miles. $1500.

The front reflector is the early model. Cables can be bought here.

I have some K-0 parts left over if you are looking for something.
