Recently I've been going through the wonderfully enjoyable experience of completely cleaning out, resoldering, replacing and reassembling the teeny, tiny parts inside of the handlebar controls for my 1974 CB550. I'm usually pretty careful and shoot photos of the overall part before I take it apart, but to my horror my digital camera stopped working, and corrupted most of the photos on it. I managed to salvage only one useful photo of the controls.
After digging for hours and hours on the internet, I've given up on finding photos of the innards. I think photos of the control innards of a CB550 simply don't exist. The closest I've found was this for the 750
http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=57242.0 and this for the 650
http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s9/cb650/pic347.jpg . Close, but no cigar.
So I'm posting the only photo I have, in hopes someone can return the favor. I might be wrong but I think this part is the same on both the CB550 and the CB750.
This photo is of the upper portion of the right control switch (you can see the on-off slider switch, the section for the lip of the throttle tube, and the big mass of wires that lead to the kill switch under everything). The Yellow/red and Green/red run to the start button on the lower half of the right switch (not pictured).

Upper half of right control switch for 1974 CB550
I've managed to figure out how to reassemble the right switch, but I've having less luck for the
left switch. There's a little metal plate-like part for the lower half of the left switch that I cannot figure out where it goes, and it doesn't seem to be for holding down wiring.
So my #1 mission is to find a photo of the left control switch, lower half. I'd be eternally grateful if someone had one, as I've hit a stopping point. If we can all chip in and post all a photo in the comments (I started here with the top-right one) we can have a collection of these extremely rare photos in one place. If someone's cleaning or swapping their bars, a few minutes to take a snapshot of the control innards will be greatly appreciated!!!
Many thanks~
