For those of us relatively new around here, is there a thread anywhere about what the Godzilla Rally IS, when it's held, what's the purpose, etc. Sounds like everybody posting knows all that but there's some of us newbies that don't even know what the hoopla's about! Thx in advance.

Well ADW, the short version history lesson is that this is a rally dreamed up in 2011 by Jerry that a "mascot" would be transported around the world on SOHC4 Hondas in a relay style rally & we could meet up with a few fellow Honda riders on the road. I think we did 23,000 miles in North America that first year & it continued on to NZ, AUS & several EU countries.  Version 2 was last year & we're just about to kick off V3 very soon.
Here's a link to the original thread

You could spend a few hours following all the past hijinks,  glad you're interested, join us this year!

Hey ADW,

When: who knows.  You need to follow the thread(s) as the little beasty move around

Where: up to you.  When it comes around, look for an opportunity to link up and do as little or as much riding as you want.  I'm past years, some people rode a few miles while others rode a few thousand miles!  michigan's first year started with the handoff from Team Ontario in Detroit.  It went to Hell from there (note my avatar!).  Then the beasty was carried over the bridge into Yooper land, over to The land of the Cheese Heads and then to ChiTown.  We planned a trip around Lake Huron for year two, but it didn't happen.  Haven't figured out yet what to do for year three yet, stay tuned!

Why? Old bikes, new friends, possible adventures and stories to last a lifetime!
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Brooze and OldSchool, thanks for the info! Sounds like fun. I'm in the Rochester MI area, NW of Detroit about 20 miles. I'll keep track of what's going on and see if I can join in!

zeek, where in OK are you? If we know where you are, we can place you on the map, which makes planning much easier. There might be a fellow rider near you?

Sign me up again this year!  Chris in Houston, TX.

I am glad to host a get-together at the shop again, too.

For our meet-up in Austin, our growing group of friends includes some pretty legit shops there - maybe we can arrange a meet and tour before heading into the hills?

Hopefully I can rally a few more takers for the journey; although, it may not be all SOHC/4 Hondas.  The more the merrier, right?

I'm in Toledo, OH -- I see we have some MI riders and someone from Cleveland and then father east in Ashtabula.

If we wanted to bounce it from West to East, I could meet someone from the MI team around Detroit and meet the Clevelander at a halfway point between Toledo + Cleveland...  or vice versa!

Wayne here in middle-eastern Iowa... I missed the first two due to military and job obligations...

I really would love to do this.  Based on usual when/where, I'd be very interested, and would go 1 day's ride in any direction from Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  that would put me into all states surrounding Iowa.

I hope I can make it work this year.  Avoid Iowa in LATE JULY or August or I'm screwed due to military duty and Sturgis.

Okay, I'm putting my name in!

Didn't make it last year, but I'll try again this year.  2011 was great and I don't want to miss out on all the fun again!  Scheduling with work is going to be tough, though.  I need a couple of weeks notice to get time off, and I'm going to Wisconsin for a week for work around the same time it looks like GZ will be in Texas (I do work with cheese, afterall :D), but if things fall into place I can at least meet up with the guys in the Austin area for some camping and hill-country riding.

Forgive me if I've overlooked this info somehow, but where can I find out where ole GZ is at the moment? And/or when he's potentially coming to my neck of the woods.

I'm in. Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I can head south to the main border crossing in Emerson, and East/West a couple hundred km in either direction.
