New Guy to Forum
« on: February 13, 2013, 07:03:15 AM »
Just wanted to introduce myself.  I did a post and it said I may have double clicked and double posted so I appologize if that is the case.  Maybe it is my fat fingers that look like they got in a fight with a blender.

Back in 1971 my Dad introduced me to the Honda CB750 (see attached photo).  I was hooked.  I was ten at the time.  Now 42 years later I found a 73 that looks just like my Dad's old bike.  Going to refurb it.  My work has to do with making carbon fiber parts for people that have lost their limbs so I forsee myself putting this bike on a carbon fiber diet if you know what I mean.  Looking forward to the project and I will post pictures as I progress.  The bike did not run well, but I got it running and now it is getting taken apart.  Figured the first thing to make out of carbon was the chain guard.

I look forward to learning, laughing, and busting my knuckles.

I'm glad you finally showed up!

You guys may remember some posts since November with their stuff. We met up at Valdosta at the Manufacturers Cup Finals races. One of the guys came back to the pits and said 'you gotta see the carbon fiber stuff for the 750's that's on display. Look for the Busa with all the carbon'. MRieck I believe?? Anyway we go look and of course I toot our horn and suggestion for them to join us here then Jim French buys all the pieces. Ask any of the guys there about the look and quality of this stuff! Pretty amazing. Jim posted pictures somewhere.

Just wait till he shows some pictures!! You'll need a towel to wipe up your drool.  ;D

That is a great pic! The bike look really nice and you look pretty happy on it in the house! Do you happen to remember the work being done on it in the pic? I see the open tool box. Welcome to the site and we all love pics!
