Moving the Socal trip to 6/1-6/2 brings me back in to it.....  If anyone wants to come visit APE just let me know or I'll ride to meet the group.

Thanks Jerry but I have mapped a route of all two lane roads from Craig all the way to Walsenberg.  Then it will be a short run down I-25 to Raton where i will exit towards Clayton. I will be leaving here early on the 11th, overnighting somewhere in southern CO or maybe even Raton. Would like to check out the Whittington center there.  Then up early for the ride to Clayton.

Also, looks like 2ceebees will joining  us for lunch and then tagging along with me for a day or so.  His sohc/4 is down though so he will be on something else.

Cool. You'll have a great ride through CO. ALWAYS good on the 2 laners. Looks like we'll have to start some planning soon for Team 4. I'll be on the road beginning Sunday and won't be home until 5/28. If things get rolling just plan without me and I'll catch up. Hoping we still have our Utah rider!

Well that would actually be the hand off from So Cal to No CAL.

Ya. I was thinking I'd maybe go south a ways, like Big Sur, and hook up w/ you guys as you head north (into Santa Cruz ;) )

But if you're coming up on 6/1 then I'm prolly out. If you overnight around here on 6/1 then maybe I'll head south a ways with you as you head home?

My plan would be to ride up on 6/1 (depending on what other So. CAL riders have planned as they may take a ride around the track at Willow) then stay overnight and return on 6/2 to Central/So. Cal.  So that would work if you wanted to ride south.  Need to know who will be taking GZ-3 hand off on that weekend though.
Does anyone want to weigh in about Willow and where we would be stopping in No. Cal?  I still need to make hotel reservations somewhere along the way...

Looks like I'm the only rider in Los Angeles area. I could meet Coachdoc anywhere around here and ride up to Rosamond to meet up everyone else at APE.  Saturday 6/1 looks great.

that works perfectly.  I love having excuses to go to Santa Cruz!  What happened to GreenHornet/Sal?  Is he not going with the LA contingency?
All I would need to know is what route you all will take from APE and then I can meet you at whatever time you will be coming through (whichever road you take as there are a few choices).

Pat, I'd love to visit. Hopefully there will be a group meeting up thereabouts, but I'd be happy to meet you there and then ride a ways with you (and Scott??)

Arrow, how about we meet up in the Santa Clarita/Newhall area. From there it's a quick trip up to Rosamond for whatever gets put together there. Hopefully we can link up with a Godzilla bearer there and head towards the coast. I'm contemplating trailering my 550 up to wherever we hook up to avoid the back and forth on the endless slab between San Diego and the northern end of the LA area. 6/1 works for me too. Anybody else from LA in?

Sorry to disappoint you Doc, but by that time the desert will be a blast furnace! It's already hit 103 in the area around Parker. :o Also, I will have already logged close to 800 miles by then. 8)

Ideally I would like to take HWY1. If I cannot get Monday off I'll just ride up as far as Monterey then head back the next day.
Time to chime in, Sal...

Alright Coachdoc, lets mark the meeting spot, Costco in santa clarita, off 14 freeway/Via princessa exit.  I think this is very convenience. 6/1 at what time?

You guys are killing me with all this planning and I my CB isn't ready.  :'(

Have a good ride and I thought of a way that even though I can't ride I can do something to participate. Depending on route what I'd like to do is wait for the group on the side of the road and as you come by I can catch up in my truck and take video of you all on the road at hwy speeds. Might be a cool add to the documention of the ride of the So.Ca. leg.

So we won't see you at all in SoCal?  :( :(    Who will be carrying Godzilla to meet up with the SoCal contingent? UPS to APE?

That is an excellent idea!! You might even consider following the riders as a support vehicle?

USPS to GreenHornet in Hawthorne is the current plan...

Remember that Mooshie and GreenHornet will be continuing on to NorCal; the earlier you get started, the better, especially if you are going to spend any time at APE.

My thoughts exactly Scott.  If you meet up at 9 in Santa Clarita you are looking at 10:30-11 before you back track to APE, then whatever that takes.  Then another 2 hours to me in Santa Barbara (and that is without the 166>33>150 twisties which is longer but funner and far better than the 5>126>101 or 14>126>101) then all the way to Santa Cruz.  Honestly I would rather get GZ-3 on Friday 5/31 and go to Santa Cruz early on 6/1 so we can ride the 1 or leave on 6/2 early -ride - and meet up with No. Cal if that is truly the plan - I don't know about all of you but I do not ride in the dark (if I can help it) and going on PCH is going to be grueling and SLOW the later we get started.
It will be 5.5 hours to Santa Cruz from Santa Barbara on the 1 without traffic and if we super slab it (yuck :P) it is 4.5 hours.

Greenhornet your thoughts?  you are coming from LA-how far you want to go and is Friday in SB or Sunday leaving for Santa Cruz even an option for you?

Made a trip to http://www.eastsideperformancemotorcycles.com/home.html and picked up some oil and a filter.  He seems to think that he can adjust my cam chain even though I've tried all the recommendations I could find on here as well as what is in the shop manual with no success.  I may take it to him tomorrow so he can have a go at it before the trip.

Scottly, Proto, and anyone else planning for 4 corners... Myself, David (coworker) and his Girlfriend are OK with camping, but if you guys would rather get a real bunk, let me know.  I think the closest motels will be in Kayenta, AZ, which is an hour West of 4 corners or Farmington, NM.

Scottly, here's the route I would like to take...

https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=8625+E+Crescent+Ave&daddr=strawberry,+az+to:winslow,+az+to:Indn+Route+15+to:Indn+Route+15%2FNavajo+Service+Route+15+to:chinle,+az+to:4+Corners+Rd&hl=en&ll=35.083956,-110.280762&spn=6.156465,11.634521&sll=35.220941,-110.203857&sspn=1.536943,2.90863&geocode=Faq9_QEdInBY-SnNb0swOLArhzGCqP3L0quw3Q%3BFX4FDQIdnb5a-Slx2IafTkcshzFOH-ZYxF8FEA%3BFTttFgIdc-Rm-Sm3Q6RgC0IuhzHoJhf1r1HIwQ%3BFYXgGwIdkqJr-Q%3BFaW7HgId30x0-Q%3BFVCsJwIdIVx4-Sn9w6LmXZ06hzGKBFOmXb5DkA%3BFeCPNAIdJRqA-Q&mra=mivtw&t=m&z=7

... it is minimal interstate up by Holbrook for only a few miles.  7-8 hrs of seat time.  Maybe you would want to meet us in Strawberry on Saturday morning?

I don't think goldarrow can ride on Friday, and last we heard from GreenHornet was he couldn't ride on Monday(?). If Doc and gold don't have their hearts absolutely set on going to APE, maybe Pat could meet up with them and Green in Santa Clarita, and then they could head for the meetup with you?
