No difference I think except the color of the emblems (gold or red).  Believe it or not, they're actually spoken for already.  I will let you know if something changes, and I do have another set available, they have shaved emblems and are in primer.  Those ones I would let go of for $60.

STOKED right now...MarkB, thank you for responding to my PM.  Seems I just may have the extremely early smooth rubber oil line, which were only fitted to the first 338 sandcasts.  I might have some bartering power for some of the other parts I need.  The bike is covered in #8 bolts as well.

I was surprised it had the early line,saw the pic, but dont know what they looked like. I knew they were. Used on less than 400 bikes. I know that mine in the 500 range had braided ones. So is it a real one?

It looked like it to me in the pic.  I'm going to dig mine out so I can better compare.  Unless someone redid somehow, it certainly isn't the braided style.

There is a CL I think that used a recessed ignition. It will come with an H rather than T code.

There is a CL I think that used a recessed ignition. It will come with an H rather than T code.

I have thought about that, but I want to look for a real one.  Those ones also have a plastic backing.

Hard to tell from the pic but on some sandcasts the allen bolts have different texture heads.

The very early ones have knurled heads.  These ones are smooth, and I'm not sure if they're the same as later K0's..

No nuts.. Use a TORX. Bit..

I will try that first Frank, but they didn't work on the last bad one...then again this one isn't corroded.  That may work, and I will report back.  It's already been hit with Liquid Wrench, and I will use Kroil once I get it to the shop.

I'm almost positive the parts interchange between K1 750's, and '71 500 Fours, and I believe the fenders are the same as well.  The 500 Fours never had a two-hole fender and mount like K0 750's however.

Bike got loaded up and taken to my dads shop. Basically got paid $100 to take a wrinkle tank that belonged on the bike. It was ruby red originally.

The guy selling me the bike wasn't really hip to the little things that are a big deal for the restoration, and he made it sound as though he had scrapped it..I thought it was long gone.  But, when I went to pick it up Saturday Dave, the shop owner asked me if I wanted it, and I looked inside and said HELL YEAH! 

The gray tank in the earlier pictures was Dave's, and it was part of the bill the PO had racked up, that I had to square to take ownership of the bike...so he took the gray tank back and scrapped $100 off the bill=a cheaper bike, and the wrinkle tank.  I suppose you could argue that I had already paid for the wrinkle tank as part of the total price for the bike, since it was never on the bill...I just never knew it was mine for the taking. 

The wrinkle tank is very bad inside, and needs a big dent taken out, but the dent is near the filler cap on the right side.  It should be a cinch for our paintless dent guy.  After the dent is out, it will go to the same guy who took care of my disgusting-it-looks-so-bad-just-throw-it-in-the-trash CA95 tank.  He is a body shop owner my dad has been friends with for decades, and he has a radiator hot dip tank, or something...he works some magic over there.  He's also sympathetic to my illness of reviving old bikes, so he did the last one free ;)

It's early to start thinking colors, but now that I have the wrinkle tank I won't have to sacrifice the goldie tank and covers...hell if I can sell the K4 for enough to pay pops back I can keep the gunfighter bike together and make it into a gold K0 clone with those headlight ears I bought, and make this a real ruby red beauty or blue green meaney...money money money...if I only had a pile of it ;D ;D I'd build a black K0 Hot Rod ;)

Couldn't start it today...all four carbs pissed gas despite the work done to the carbs by the shop I had to pay off. They charged the PO for all new floats and seats, and all sorts of other work...I wasn't going to keep those carbs on here, but I at least hoped after paying him off that they would be solid, and salable...really disappointed.
