After looking at a few late K0 projects, it looks like the stands were like mine (missing the extra upside down U brace) up until at least late in the K0 run.

Marcel (Lecram AKA the gauge face guy) has informed me that the back plates for the sandcasts are different than what the K1 gauges on this bike will have.  I'm going to do some more pictorial investigating ;D

Not much of an update, but I found a turned-down to smooth oil filter cover on ebay...only fifty bucks ;D ;D

Nope, but for that price I'm not complaining ;)  Real ones go for over $600 when they come up.  I'll rough it up with some wetsanding for a brushed look.

Thanks!  I think I caught it an hour after it was listed :D This one has some lathe marks as well.  Hopefully I will be able to sand it down to a smooth, brushed finish. 

Do you know about the fellow on SOOC who is planning a real 'sandcast' run of replicas?  He was planning to charge around $200 each I believe, but they are supposed to be as close to the real thing as possible.  I'll probably make due with this one.

Yes, people seem willing to pay good money for them, especially an exact replica.  My bike is technically after the finned covers appear, but if I find a lower numbered motor, I'll be happy to have one.

I am stupid excited right now.  With a little help from this forum I have tracked down and agreed to buy a three hundred range sandcast motor.  It's in rough shape and had been used in a chopper frame for who knows how long.  It's missing the very early head, and the 9-hole clutch cover, so the search for parts will have to continue.  But, for now I'm looking forward to getting it in the shop!

Looks like it has finned points cover and stator cover... You may be able to recoup some by selling those......

I wish it was Danny...the real ones are worth Hundreds of dollars, but that one is a chopper style..look closely at the front of it and you'll see an acorn nut, and the funky shape of the cover.
