Stand by for an H-1
« on: March 14, 2013, 06:11:10 PM »
Just got off the phone with a gentleman that has a 1969 H-1 and 1969 Honda Scrambler. Both sitting in the garage for 5 years.

Waiting on pics especially the H-1. Asking $2500 each.

Will see about that.  ;)

He said he use to ride it but not anymore. Titled, asking $2500. Left gas in carbs and tank, probably needs tires.

I'm going lower.

Then he put's it on CL for $3000 and I get this email:

My reply to the last email.

Rick,

I have sold five Honda's over the years. Two in Las Vegas, one in San Diego, two in Utah. Each time I held for the first caller and in all instances was offered more by subsequent buyers. Buyers frequently live out of town much like myself and need travel time to inspect the motorcycle.

Remember, you contacted me with your price in an email. Next you posted on CL with a higher price. The least you could of done was let me see the bike first. Your next email becomes a bidding war like an Auction.

There your motorcycles and you are free to sell as you wish. I am no longer interested in your H-1.

Thank you for the call yesterday.

Sincerely,

John

Yeah, be polite although I didn't want to.  ;) Dazzle with words.

Make it 4K! What the he!!.

I have $5200 cash stuffed in an envelope. Was willing to buy both but will not be made into a sucker.

He can keep both for all I care. He replied to my CL ad, I did not to his.

No, I don't want yours. :D The S-90? Yeah, might be.

Had another call yesterday on a White original 305 Dream. Guy said he would even drop it off on his way to LA. Lives way up North. Don't remember what he told me.

No offer yet but thinking about it.

Wonder what happened?

I think the picture he posted is either when it was first bought or someone else. I could not get anymore pics from him. Like I said, could of well been playing me for a sucker.

The 500T is available also.

It was last plated in 09 (looking at the picture of it on the trailer). Pics were probably taken then. Man tt, has anyone accused you of having too much time and money on your hands?  ;) :D

Oh! New pics?

Yes, as a matter of fact. I retired in November, rebuild bikes then resale and buy something else. It's all good.
