How to get a brighter tailight -CB750K2?
« on: May 06, 2013, 07:53:26 AM »
I have a CB750K2 with a K1 tailight and its pretty dim during the day and not so bright at night. This bike is a single 15amp fuse. I tried running and LED tailight (red/white) but it would not work (but did on the K4!?). Anyone make their tailight brighter or have an idea of how to get the LED tailight to work on a single fused CB750?

Thanks
Andy

Andy,
Check your voltage at the tail lamp socket. Odds are you have something in the circuit dropping the voltage. Either a connector or wire is providing resistance. Trace the voltage back to find the drop. Wire rot, black corrosion can do this, or your std green copper corrosion in the wire is possible. Or your connectors have oxidized.

Good luck.

i also use a standard bulb, but wired in 4 of these (in red) pasted on the corners of the reflector inside.
much brighter during the daytime and illuminate the whole reflector.

red ones are quite bright as seen on my kids scooter below.  they are waterproof and have an inline resistor.
directly wired to my harness to come on when braking.

might be adding one of these at a later date
