AWSOME WORK GENTS!! I think we have a ride for PimpZilla all the way from Albany to Chicago!

Let's see if I got this right.  Please correct the riders/handoffs and maybe post some ideas on dates...

Apostrophe to Laracords between Utica and Watertown (date TBD)
Laracords to Brooze at Mosport (if possible time wise else ??)
Brooze to Tripps at Niagara/Buffalo (any trouble getting over the boarder Brooze?)
Tripps to Rio & Becken at OH/PA boarder
Rio & Becken and the rest of the N.Ohio riders to Artsqu & Dave
Artsqu & Dave bring him to Motown and join in the Michigan Monster Ride
Monster Ride ends with BankerDanny riding off into the Chicago sunset with PimpZilla

Is that about right??

No problem for me crossing the border Bruce.  All is date dependant. Thanks for the shout out Artesq, right back at ya!  This plan means we may not meet up again, bummer, was hoping to hook up with you MI guys.

Ian
I am able to meet up with you after 27th. Would love to meet you either in Albany or somewhere between there and Ottawa, state side of course.
Larry
Larry
I'm thinking somewhere a little west of Saranac lake. As far as a date I'll have to check. I'm off 9/1-2 so that would be my ideal days to drop off
Does 9/1-2 work for you Larry? If so, lets set that weekend as the target date for the team 5 to team 6 hand-off.

Ditto Bankerdanny. Becken I am in Detroit and can help get that lizard here so that he can continue his trek thru the midwest and beyond. I need at least a couple days advance notice so that I can  joggle my work schedule.
Thanks old school for getting involved and helping out. Too bad that lizard won't be here for the Dreamcruise this year. That lizard would be in Lizard Heaven breathing that dragon breath on all those people and vehicles. Maybe next year.
Will continue to watch for future post on the lizards travels. Also Becken I can travel during the week to make this happen.
Shout out to Brooze72 and Tripps best regards.
Artsqu-there are a couple of people from Toledo signed up. Hopefully they are watching this thread. During the week is good for me also.

hey becken thanks for the IM heads-up.    as far as participating, my 550 is in good order (knock on wood) and so i would love to be part of the run.   but i am an 8-to-5er, so weekends are best for me.  if you guys are doing a weekday run through toledo, I may be able to get the day off to join up, but i need some notice (as much as possible).

do we have any concrete calendar days outlined yet for our leg?

I like it when there is a plan......................My schedule is to return from Bonneville on September 1st.  If GZIII arrives after  Labor Day I could coordinate with Tews and other to get him to MN..............

I think Nebraska was covered by Grasshopper.

I have not heard from Iowa...............

Iowa is here... Up til now the progress and/or planning has not seemed to involve us in this direction.... I haven't had anything to add, as until I know if I will be here to help, I didnt want to get in the way.

As I understand it now, Godzilla will be coming from Chicago... but not sure where he's going from Chicago.  I could probably try to meet there someplace and get him in another direction, but I need to know more about who wants him after me... I dont have tons of time to devote to planning, so if someone can set up the plan, I can do my best to be there.  I'll do my best so we dont have to box GZ up again...

I will participate with the Michigan guys again this year. I will bring GZ back to Chicago with me. What I hope to do is be able to setup a Saturday or Sunday ride with some of the Chicago area guys. Based on recent posts in the Forum there are plenty.

My best case scenario is that I can get back to Chicago on Friday and have a ride pre-arranged with other Chicago area guys (and I know there are a bunch here) for Saturday, then head north to Wisconsin and hand him off somewhere around Milwaukee.

However, I can just as easily take him west to Iowa. I am fortunate that my time is very flexible and piling up some miles to move him along should not be a problem.

I am hopeful that we can get the dates for Michigan set this week, at which point we will reach out to the Wisconsin and Iowa members to see where he goes from Chicago.

In an effort to avoid the issues we have had with area 5, I would like ot get a head start on the Michigan to Wisconsin handoff for team 6.

I'll send PM's to the usual suspects in Wisconsin: Tewes, Old Scrambler, Sixth Wisconsin, Scamagedon etc and try and figure out who I will be delivering GZ to. I am doing my best to keep my September schedule open and should be able to do a mid-week run anyplace within a few hundred miles of Chicago without any problems.

Are there state coordinators for Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota?

Big part of the problem of team 5 was that I did not know NY, NJ is part of the team till GZ was in Virginia.  I had riders organized all the way to PA.

It appears that Apostrophe will be bringing GZ to Albany, NY on Sunday the 25th.  From him it either goes north to Larecords in Ottowa Canada or west to Tripps in Buffalo. We then have people who had signed up in Toronto, Ashtabulo, Oh, Cleveland, Marblehead, and Toledo before heading to Detroit.

If everyone that signed up still wants in, it appears the best route would be:

Aprostrophe gets GZ to Larecords in Ottowa, then he rides to Toronto and hands off to brooze and Kaptiv8 who bring him over to Tripps in Buffalo, where GZ can then follow Lake Erie to cosmic vision in Ashtabula, then Rio750 in Cleveland, then Becken in Marblehead, then Mono in Toledo. Once GZ hits Toledo I think we have the route already set for Michigan and for getting GZ to Chicago with me.

I really need to go back and re-read threads before posting.

I am going to print out the last couple pages of the team 5 and 6 threads so i can pull together the time line as it stands now.

No worries CB, there is no blame. The stars have just not aligned for us this year like previously, and not enough people have stepped up to take ownership of their sections of the rally to make sure things went smoothly.

That's why I have gotten more active to try and take some of the pressure off of you and Scottly and some of the others that have teid to keep things going.

Danny,

Looks to me like you got the general routing correct. As I think Laricords and Tripps have fairly open schedules thru the first few weeks of September (correct me if I'm wrong Gents!) I think the critical timings will be the handoff in Buffalo and the run across Ohio. Once those are firmed up, we just need to pick a date to start the Michigan Monster Ride.

From what I can piece together from the 2 threads, Ian (Apostraphe) is getting GZ Sunday the 25th and then Larry (Larecords) will ride over from Ottawa to get him from Ian on the 29th.

But we seem to hit another lengthy break there as Larry will be on a fishing trip for a week can't move him along until 2 weeks later on the 13th of September when he has offered to take in to Port Dover on Lake Erie a bit west of Buffalo.

I don't know how anybody else feels, but I would really prefer not to wait 2 weeks. It's not necessarily an issue for us here, but that will mean the Montana, Idaho, and PNW folks might not see him until deep into October when they are looking at cold and in some places possibly snow.

It might be best to have Larry ship GZ to Brooze in Toronto, but we also need to figure where he goes from there.

I don't know if Tripps is interested/able to do double duty. Bringing GZ to Larry this weekend, then getting him back a week later from Brooze to bring him to one of the Ohio guys.

If it is helpful I can use my employer's conference call system to setup a teleconference to talk this through. Sometimes it's easier if we can all communicate at the same time with our calendars in front of us.

I amended my post in the Team 5 thread, I could go get him, but it would be a 650 mile round trip, there is no way I could drop him by Albany too, in one day. Not sure if that would help at all.

Yes, he's stuck in PA. Team 5 is looking for a possible Team Brown link, but not sure where to send him.

Maybe to Albany? Or directly to Tripps for relay to Larry who then brings him to you, Bruce?  Then you give him back to Tripps in Buffalo then on to Ohio??  I know Larry has holiday coming up, so that might not work.

Stay tuned.

There's been talk of a quick Boston detour and then a meet-up with Apostrophe in Albany for the continuation of journey West. Not sure of the details, but like I said in the Team 5 thread, I'm trying to be very conscious of the cold weather settling into the Midwest soon; making GZ riding less desirable there.
