NEED HELP WITH VIN!
« on: May 08, 2014, 12:00:10 PM »
I recently bought a project bike from a local fabricator.  He has been sitting on this bike for years and gave me a great deal on it.  My problem, now that I'm done building it, is I can't for the life of me find out what year vin I have.  I looked at multiple threads but my number sequence doesn't show up anywhere.  The frame has a lot of custom work done to it and the inspection plate is gone.  The fabricator I bought it from has no idea due to it was a swap meet trade.  The parts that came with it most defiantly point to the early K model; for example, oil tank, motor, swing arm, ect.
The Vin is 1101010
Any help will be greatly appreciated.  Also if any knows where I can search the history of this bike that would be awesome.

The frame should  have a plate and an engraved number on the neck. I understand maybe the plate is gone, but the engraved frame number should still be visible on the right side of the steering neck.

Your motor will have a different serial number. The number you  published would appear to be a frame number, as motor numbers tend to also have letters. Any pictures or model info?

And you checked here?

I agree with Chewie.  It matches the numeric range of a later K1.
