Always tell us you motor size and model no.  Assuming a K7 or K8 CB750............order the correct parts. New or try the parts wanted page.

750's have two types of mounts. Spigot which is "permanently" attached to the head and you slip the pipe on and clamp it.

Collars and clamp style has collars that sit on the exhaust downtubes and then half circle shims that the collars squish the headpipe to the head by.

I would suggest getting used shims from a WTB, no point in new as they aren't seen

i have the spigot mount so my finned clamps just slide over the headers but its a pain to take the pipes off and try and slide the shim  stock in then tighten, will think of a better way I usually do

I'm not sure if your clamps won't tighten enough or the pipes are loose on the spigot. If it's the clamps, remove some material off the inside of the non threaded face of each clamp so they tighten further. If the pipes are slack are there four "slots" cut into the end of the tube like a stock pipe? If not do that yourself. They should tighten without resorting to shimming.

If it is the above type, put a strip of tape around them when you have them on. Makes things hella easier.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

You aren't the first guy with a clamp that doesn't quite grab. One guy used a red bull can as a shim. Like Bwaller said, and I did for my #3, shave the unthreaded portion so it can travel just a little bit more and actually clamp
